Objectives
- At least 97% of our students will meet or exceed district and state standards by 2012.
- All students will understand, develop and consistently demonstrate the character traits of responsibility, trustworthiness, citizenship, caring, fairness and respect.
- Each student will achieve challenging personalized goals in preparation for a successful transition to further education or a meaningful endeavor of his or her choice.

The work of the Teaching and Learning department is at the heart of student success through curriculum support, staff development, program implementation, and instructional support. In addition Teaching and Learning plays an integral role in the Strategic Plan with the following emphasis:
- Expand and extend the Character Counts! Coalition through partnerships within the #308 community, which includes the training all district staff and supporting building Character Counts! initiatives.
- Continue to identify the essential skills/questions and assessments for each content area and course offered in the district through Curriculum Mapping.
- Create and utilize valid and reliable formative (on-going) and summative (final) assessments which are integral to student progress and achievement.
- Implement Response to Intervention plans that reflect each school’s needs and population with an emphasis on differentiation.
- Assess and address the concept of Rigor at the secondary level.
- Imbed Instructional Technology in all classrooms by providing hardware, software, staff development, and exploration of flexible learning environments.
