August Principal's

Dear Parents and Students,

Welcome to August!! I hope everyone has had an enjoyable summer break filled with lots of adventures and of course reading some great books. I have been working hard to get ready for this next school year with all the changes we have here at the building. Below are some of the highlights.

First we have a new Assistant Principal here at WC. Mr. McCree is now over at the Brokaw Center as their new principal. Mrs. Leslie Weber officially will begin Monday, July 30^th. Leslie is coming to WC from Plainfield with a number of years of experience teaching. She has also served as a differentiation specialist in Plainfield. I am very excited to begin my partnership with Leslie and she is excited to meet all of our students and parents. Mrs. Janiece Bersky will be taking the first semester off to stay home with her son. We are working on finding a replacement for Mrs. Bersky until she returns in January. We have added a diagnostic program here at Wolf’s Crossing for this next year. Mrs. Donna Porrey will be joining us from Grande Park. We are very excited to welcome this classroom out to Wolf’s Crossing. There are some new faces to get to know here as well. Cynthia Blotter will be one of our full day kindergarten teachers. Cynthia comes to us from Lakewood Creek with a number of years’ experience. Also at the kindergarten level Mr. Louis Kotivs and our own Amy Craft from second grade will be working with Mrs. Huddlestun to welcome our new kindergarten students. Mrs. Jeannine Thacker from fourth grade is moving down to second grade to join this team this coming year. I am very excited about our changes and look forward to great things this year!

At the building and district level we are working on finalizing the building walking plan. As plans are finalized I will work to send out information on procedures and address questions.   The sidewalk is being put in and other necessary changes are being made to the parking lots. Again your patience in the transition to being a walking school for this next year is appreciated!

Class lists can be accessed on the home access system Thursday, August 16th after 4:00 PM. This will allow you to view your child’s teacher for the 2012-2013 school year.

Preview Night will be Monday, August 20^th from 5-7. This is an opportunity for you and your child to walk the building, meet the teacher and gather information about our PTA. I would highly encourage you to attend this evening.

The first full day of student attendance for grades 1-5 will be Wednesday, August 22^nd. Please remember we are a Tier One school beginning at 8:30 and ending at 3:20. Kindergarten round up will be Thursday, August 23^rd from 9:30-11:30.  Parents and students will attend this orientation.

I am very excited to see our returning students and welcome those new students to Wolf’s Crossing. Enjoy your final weeks and we will see you soon!
