May Letter From Mrs. Sulkson

May 1, 2012

May 2012
Welcome Spring! I cannot believe we are in the last few weeks of school. My how the time has flown! May is a time to enjoy the weather, reflect on the school year and celebrate the many accomplishments we have had over the course of the school year. I know there have been so many for each of our kiddos!
The following are important dates to mark for the month of May:
Early Release Day for students – 1:40 for 1st-5th Grades and AM K- 8:40-10:40 & PM 11:40-1:40
Last PTA meeting-Tuesday, May 8th at 7:15- This will be an ice cream social for attendees.
Wolf’s Crossing Reading Night- Tuesday May, 8th at 6:00 everyone is welcome to attend.
Book Fair – May 1st through May 9th. The Book fair will be open on May 8th from 5:30-8:15
No school- Monday, May 28th in observance of Memorial Day
Field Day- May 31st, 2012
Please remember to notify the office of any changes for the 2012-2013 school year. We would appreciate the information in advance! I would like to take this opportunity to remind parents when picking up students before and after school to refrain from using your cell phone. School zones are an area where cell phones are not to be used. We would appreciate your support and commitment to making our school zone safe for students’ arrival and departures on a daily basis.
During these last few weeks, please stay in touch with your child’s teacher. A continued partnership between home and school are critical to students’ success. Your child’s teacher also may have some ideas for continued academic and social growth for students over the summer months. Please feel free to contact them for ideas and suggestions.
As we move into the next school year, there will be some changes for Wolf’s Crossing. Our enrollment has decreased due to the boundary changes, therefore we will have one less section at first, third and fourth grades for the upcoming school year. We will be saying goodbye to some of our staff as they transition to new buildings or have decided to stay home with their own kiddos.
I would also like to take this opportunity to say goodbye to our students and families leaving Wolf’s Crossing and moving on to Grande Park. It has been a pleasure having you here at WC. Please know how missed you will be next year. I can’t wait to hear about how you all are doing when I talk to Mrs. Wulff next fall. Wolf’s Crossing is a better place because of your time here!
Best Regards,
Allison Sulkson and The Wolf’s Crossing Staff
