Message from the Principal - February
January 31, 2009
As we move forward in this, the next chapter of the incredible journey of Traughber Junior High, it is indeed a time of reflection on a past filled with history, tradition, and accomplishment. This is also a time of celebration and new beginnings. Within this building, our very much welcomed and appreciated, brand new Traughber Junior High - The Tradition Continues.
As we made the transition from our former school building to this incredible new school, we are reminded that the one constant that has run throughout the years is the people involved in this school. The staff, students, administration, parents, and the whole school community, are the core of what sustains our school.
Our school district mission statements speaks of a unique partnership of students, staff, families and community, coming together to provide a safe and caring place to learn. This school building, and the way it was designed, built, and filled with the implements of learning, are an example of that mission in action.
We have been incredibly blessed in the support and team work we experienced in so many ways; From the district construction team of Doug Gallios, Kevin Peterson, Mike Barr and Pat Dacy, to the endless hours many members of our staff volunteered to help set up the school, to the support of the district office team, and the leadership of our school board, the architects firm of Kluber, Skahan and Associates, as well as the general contractor Maggio Construction, and the school community in supporting this new school in so many ways. All of these, and so many more, are fine examples of a solid unique partnership in action for a common cause – our students!
Our own school mission statement - Celebrating Our Past, Pursuing Our Success, Shaping Our Future, speaks to the central tone of this school, it’s rich past, as well as now, as we move deeper into this, the first year in our new home.
Traughber Junior High is a school steeped in a rich and fruitful past, and continues to maintain the one driving force upon which our success has been accomplished. That force being, one of asking, what is in the best interest of our students. And, that same force will bring a continued sense of energy and focus as we move into the future in our new school building.
What this new stage in the history of our school brings to each of us is as varied as the personalities and experiences that shaped us into unique individuals. But, we can know this – we have embarked into this new stage, a new beginning of an ongoing adventure, and we will all have a chance to witness and participate in this journey together. For that experience and the opportunities it will bring, we can all be appreciative, as this is what being a Traughber-ite is all about.
