What is the Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)?
Each student, upon registering in the Oswego Community Schools, must sign the district's AUP. This document, officially called the Guidelines for Acceptable Use of the Computer Network System, states that the student agrees to use the school computer equipment for educational purposes only. Failure to comply by these guidelines will result in disciplinary action. All staff must work together to ensure that students are following the guidelines whenever they are using school computers. Students are not allowed to change any computer settings, play games, instant message or visit inappropriate sites.
What are the check-out policies?
You must have your student ID to check out a book. Books are due two weeks after being checked out. Fines are $.10/day for each overdue item. However, reference books are only allowed to be taken out overnight. Fines for overnight materials are $1.00/day when they are not returned in the AM. You can check out two books at a time or one book and one magazine. However, if you need a book for a project, you can check out more than two books. Overdue notices are distributed once a week in Language Arts classes.
Do I need a pass?
All students must have a pass signed by a teacher if coming to the LRC. Students must have a pass from the teacher who assigned the work in order to use a computer in the LRC.
What if I lose my ID card?
You MUST have your photo ID card to check out books. The LRC staff can take ID pictures and print ID cards at any time. There is a $5.00 charge for replacements.
