School Improvement Plan

  1. To analyze why our special education population did not make AYP for the 2006-07 school year and utilize best practices to get these students to the appropriate achievement target for the 07-08 school year.
  2. To raise the achievement level of all of our subgroups.
    • Objective-raise scores of students who are at warning/below to meets
    • Objective-raise the scores of students who are at meets to exceeds
  3. To enrich the overall “Thompson experience” both emotionally and academically for all students as this has a direct tie to increased achievement

Oswego Community Unit School District 308 embraces the CHARACTER COUNTS!sm program and the "Six Pillars of Character" - trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship.

CHARACTER COUNTS!sm bases its programs and materials on six ethical values that everyone can agree on — values that are not political, religious, or culturally biased.

Strategic Plan Objective
District 308 will engage all members of our partnership to integrate, reinforce, and assess the character traits to address those social issues that negatively impact learning.

2008-09 Plan
Implement a Character Counts Train the Trainers program for community partners.
Investigate and secure supplemental funding resources to support Character Counts Initiatives.
Ensure all Schools are consistently implementing discipline procedures in a manner consistent of six pillars of Character Counts.
