Letter from your President
Dear Southbury Sharks,
Welcome back to school! I hope your first week of school
went as well at home as it did in the classroom.
As your Home and School Association President, I would like
to welcome you to our 1st year here at Southbury Elementary.
As a way of introduction, my name is Tracy Etheridge, and I
am serving as SBE Home and School President for 2008-09,
this will be my first year. My husband Matt and I have three
children in the district: a
5th grade
daughter, a 3rd grade
daughter and a 2nd
grade son here at SBE. We also have a son beginning his
1st year of preschool through the
Oswegoland Park District 3 year old program. Last but
definitely not least, we have a 16 month old son still at
home with mommy.
My goal is, by working together we can provide a great year
for our children. I hope to help create an atmosphere with
lots of Southbury spirit and a balance of educational and
recreational activities. By joining the Home and School
Association YOU can help US accomplish that goal.
Be sure to check out the many volunteer opportunities.
Whether you can volunteer for an hour once a week or once a
quarter, there are many ways to get involved.
As a reminder, our Home and School meetings are set for the
first Thursday of every month at 6:00 pm. These meetings
will be held at Southbury in our Community Room. Home and
School meetings are open to everyone and we encourage all to
attend.
And of course, feel free to contact any of the active board
members should you have any questions and/or want to get
involved.
