Parent Organization
Each District 308 school is generously supported by the efforts of its parent organization. The individuals in these groups have graciously volunteered countless hours of time and effort to help our students thrive. From fund raising, assistance at school events, and the development of special programs to communicating with parents to keep them informed about their children’s education, the parent/school relationship is a critical and valued partnership. District 308 so strongly believes in the partnership between the school and families that it is the cornerstone of the district’s mission.
The district encourages parents to join their children in forming a close relationship with their school. By working together towards a common goal, everyone—especially our children—will benefit.

Your Home and School Association Executive Board welcomes you to our fourth year and is looking forward to another successful year!
By working together we can provide a great year for our children. It is our goal to help create the Plank Pirates' spirit through a balance of both educational and recreational activities. By joining the Home and School Association, YOU can help us accomplish that goal.
Your membership in the Plank Home and School Association will allow us to provide much needed financial support to serve the best interests of our children. Your membership does not require active participation. You volunteer to participate in our activities as your schedule permits.

Our next Home and School Meeting will be on August 31 at 7 PM. No meeting in September. Starting in October, the meetings will be on the 1st Tuesday of each month at 7 PM.

Culver's Night will be the third Thursday of EVERY month. If you order lunch/dinner from Culver's, or the drive thru, just mention Plank Jr. High and we receive a portion of your purchase. Cash back for the School!

Cookie Dough Fundraiser
The Plank cookie dough fundraiser lasted through Friday, October 16. Proceeds will be used by the Home & School to support the teacher grant program, as well as school dances, game nights, teacher appreciation and many other activities.
Pickup for all cookie dough orders were Monday, November 9, from 5:00 - 7:00 in the Community Room nearest the cafeteria. The products are perishable and must be picked up during this time frame.
We sold close to 500 tubs of cookie dough and profited nearly $3,000 for our school. Any questions, please contact Diane Cabiness at 630-554-3513. Thank you for supporting the Plank Home & School.

Entertainment Book Fundraiser

Students brought home the Entertainment coupon book on September 1. This fundraiser raised funds for the Plank Home & School Association and ended on September 14. Entertainment is a great budget stretcher and can help families save money on the things they do every day! Each Entertainment® book contains thousands of dollars in 2-for-1 and up-to-50%-off discount offers for local and national restaurants, shopping, services, hotels and resorts, recreation, entertainment and much more. The Chicago South & West edition includes offers for popular establishments such as: CiCi’s Pizza, TGI Fridays, Menards, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Culver’s Frozen Custard, Goodrich Quality Theaters and HUNDREDS more. Additional books can be ordered for friends and family. The cost for this book is $20.00. A parent letter is available here by clicking either English or Spanish.
