School Improvement Plan

Goal 1: Reading and Math Achievement
Increase percentages of 6th-8th grade students within the special education population who meet or exceed state standards in reading as measured by the ISAT in order to meet AYP

Goal 2: Academic Support
Continue to provide additional time, support and resources for students who are struggling to meet essential skills in the areas of math and reading
Continue utilization of learning lab and lunch resource
Continue ongoing staff analysis of assessment data specifically using MAP scores
Increase utilization of homework club
Administrators individually meet with all students receiving letter grades of D and F quarterly

Goal 3: Professional Learning Communities
Continue the process of implementing Professional Learning Communities for all content areas with emphasis on the following: cross-curricular teaching, differentiated instruction, technology, and electives

CHARACTER COUNTS!sm bases its programs and materials on six ethical values that everyone can agree on — values that are not political, religious, or culturally biased.

Strategic Plan Objective
District 308 will engage all members of our partnership to integrate, reinforce, and assess the character traits to address those social issues that negatively impact learning.

2008-09 Plan
Implement a Character Counts Train the Trainers program for community partners.
Investigate and secure supplemental funding resources to support Character Counts Initiatives.
Ensure all Schools are consistently implementing discipline procedures in a manner consistent of six pillars of Character Counts.
