Principal's Message
June 20, 2012
Happy Summer! I sincerely hope all of our Old Post families are enjoying their summer relaxing, vacationing, swimming, reading, playing mathematical games, and having fun with friends.
Our school has a skeletal crew this summer. When you need assistance, please call ahead to ensure someone that can assist you will be in the office.
Watch the marquee for great book suggestions for primary and intermediate level students. All of the books have been recommended by Old Post teachers and staff. The marquee will be updated about every two weeks.
Old Post families can start checking classroom teacher assignments on-line beginning at 4 p.m. on Thursday, August 16, via Home Access. Information to register for home access was sent home in the final Friday folder. If you are new to our school, the information you need to register for Home Access was provided at registration. Home Access is inaccessible between June 15 and August 16.
Mark your calendars to join us at Open Old Post on Monday, August 20, between 5 and 7 p.m. to check out classrooms and to meet teachers.
Parents of incoming Old Post Full Day Kindergarten students should plan on attending Kindergarten Roundup with your Kindergartener on Thursday, August 23 from 9:30-11:30 a.m. There is no Kindergarten transportation on this day. Old Post participants, please park in the side parking lot and enter through door # 2. Families of students enrolled in Half Day Kindergarten will be notified about Kindergarten Roundup by your child’s assigned school in August.
The first day of classes for students in 1st through 5th grades is Wednesday, August 22, 2012. PLEASE NOTE, our beginning and ending times have changed. School begins at 8:30 a.m. and will end at 3:20 p.m. The first full day for Kindergarteners is Friday, August 24, 2012. Morning supervision begins at 8:15 a.m. Walkers and car riders should arrive at school between 8:15 and 8:25.
Just as has been policy in the past, any birthday treats students pass out at school need to be NON-EDIBLE. We appreciate your cooperation when considering weather to send birthday treats to school.
Enjoy your summer!
