Programs

Mrs. Peterson, Academically Talented

 

The mission of the Academically Talented (AT) Program is to provide appropriate educational opportunities for those students who display attributes associated with academic talent in reading and in mathematical learning areas. The program nurtures risk-taking and individual growth, values learning and knowledge, and promotes critical thinking.

 

 

Mr. Cafaro, Social Work Services

 

Our mission is to help students achieve maximum benefit from their educational opportunities, understand themselves and others, improve interpersonal relationships, cope with stress, and develop decision making skills. School Social Workers are a vital part of the educational team, working together with educational administrators, teachers, counselors, psychologists, nurses,

 

 

Mrs. Meyer, Speech and Language

 

We provide speech and language services to children exhibiting articulation/phonology, language, voice, and fluency disorders. Services are offered through pull-out, collaboration and/or in-class sessions. Children’s individual needs are considered when determining goals, the amount of therapy needed, and location of services.

 

 
Ms. Sperlakis, Special Education

 

Our mission is to accommodate diverse learners in order to allow them to successfully reach their full educational and social potential. Multi-sensory tools are used to address individual learning styles. We highlight students’ strengths to help them feel successful while providing strategies to promote learning. Through teacher and parent collaboration, curriculum modifications, and individualized instruction, students are empowered to succeed to the best of their abilities.

Our mission is to ensure students have a high level of familiarity and competence with a wide range of technologies. Each student should be able to access, analyze and create a variety of knowledge through the effective and efficient use of technology.
