Attention Horticulture Club members: we will be holding an important meeting tomorrow right after school in room 80. You will be voting for our Homecoming Flower King and Flower Queen. Portillo’s chocolate cake will be served.
Art club will hold an informational meeting this Friday, September 14, right after school in Mr. Kolkay's room, 96. Any students with questions can see Mrs. Strejc or Mr. Kolkay.
Invisible Children's Club will be held every Wednesday in Mr. Nantz's room right after school! If you're interested in music, this week would be a great time to get involved in what they have in store for the year. New comers are always welcome!
Deutschklub has had a great start to the new school year. Google Deutsch in Oswego to find meeting times, places, and an agenda. Their meeting this week will be Thursday at OEHS in room F128 from 2:45 - 3:30. For more information contact their current OHS student leader Tyler Davis.
The chess team will begin practices on Tuesday, September 18, in room 148. We'll meet from 2:30 - 4:00, and no experience is required.
The first meeting of Slam Poetry Group is Thursday at 2:45 in room 240. See Mr. Nantz or Mr. Shaffer with questions.
Anyone interested in being the Panther Mascot should stop by the Athletic Director's office and give them your name.
The Oswego Boys’ Cross Country Team took one step closer to their team goals by showing some positive work within the racethis past Saturday at Joliet to pack up and work together. Caleb Beck won the meet while Peter Johnsrud, Christistian Bartell, and Brandon Ramsey earned top 20 individual awards. Nick Couch rounded out the top 5 to help the team solidify 2nd place out of 14 teams. The only team to beat us was conference school, Plainfield South. With three potential top 7 runners sitting out this past week, they are anticipating an interesting conference meet with the full team. This Saturday, they are heading to Peoria to compete on the State Meet course.
The Panther football team defeated the Minooka Indians 42 - 0 on Friday night. Touchdowns were scored by Mikeel Stewart, Brett Wainwright, Jack Kwiatkowski, Elliot McGaughy, and Steven Frank. The Panther Defense and Special Teams forced three turnovers. The Defense was led by Sean Graff, Christian Ornelas, and Chad Burdo.
Driving into the Eastview Elementary parking lot in order to make it into the OHS parking lot is not allowed. This will be enforced by school officials and the Oswego Police. You are also not allowed to park in the East View lot.
All seniors that have not had their senior portraits taken need to call the studio at 630/264-9900 to make an appointment. They are open until 8:00 p.m. two days a week. They are also open all day Columbus Day.
Any junior or senior girl interested in participating in the annual homecoming Powder Puff game can pick up an informational sheet and tee shirt order form in Student Services or the Deans’ Office. The cost is $20 and money and forms must be turned in to Mrs. Niedert by September 19 at 2:30. There will be a mandatory rules meeting in the main gym that day.
