In a quick sports update, the sophomore baseball team defeated Plainfield East four to three behind the strong pitching of Alex Compton and Zach West. Tucker Vann singled to score Jerome Minick and Tyler Gibson, before scoring later in the inning. Then in the fourth inning, Minick hit in Mitch Wilson for the Panther’s fourth run. Congratulations boys! Congratulations to Riley Vann & Kelsey Hjorth in qualifying for the State meet at Eastern Illinois University. Vann was Sectional Champ in the Pole vault, 2nd in the 100 m hurdles, and 3rd in the 300 m hurdles. She will compete in all three events at the State meet. Hjorth took 2nd place in the 1600 running a time of 5:05, setting a new school record and qualifying for the State meet. Hjorth also qualified in the 3200 with a 3rd place finish at Sectional. Also, a big shout out to Ashley Golembeski who ran a personal best in the 800 taking 3rd place at Sectional. Lastly, great job to Freshmen Princess Shodipo who took 6th place at Sectional scoring points for the Panthers. The team finished 5th place overall out of 16. Best of luck to Riley & Kelsey as they compete this Friday and Saturday at Eastern Illinois University.   Oswego Panther Basketball Summer informational meeting is on Tuesday May fifteenth at two forty in the Small Gym. Questions? See Coach Schnabz in the Deans' Office.
In other announcements, Anime Club is hosting the Anime Dodge Ball on Tuesday. Also, Book Club has a meeting after school on Tuesday in Room two thirty four. French club is having its fundraiser at Buffalo Wild Wings today after school! Please bring your friends and family to the Douglas Road location to help support your French Club. You need to bring in a voucher so see any French Club member or go to room two twelve and see Mademoiselle Inch to pick one up! Are there any French and Spanish students interested in traveling to France and Spain during the summer of 2014? There will be an informational meeting on Tuesday, May twenty second at six p.m. in room one thirty one at Oswego East. Please see Mademoiselle Inch if you have questions. 
Attention Seniors: Herff Jones will deliver caps and gowns on Tuesday during lunch periods in the cafeteria. Bring your balance due to pick up your cap and gown. Herff Jones does not accept personal checks, so please pay online at www.herffjonesil.com or bring cash on delivery day. If you did not order your cap and gown, you may purchase yours on Tuesday, May fifteenth. The cost is sixty dollars. For more information please call Herff Jones at 815-756-4743 or visit www.herffjonesIL.com.Also, senior t-shirts are five dollars for the month of May. Stop by Mrs. Stangland’s room to purchase one. Don't forget to drop off your donations for Interacts' Global Medical Brigade Supply drive in your second block class or Student Services before the eighteenth! Items will be delivered to Honduras and distributed by volunteers to the local orphanage and medical clinics. Small donations make big differences in the lives of others, and free cinnamon rolls for the second block class with the most items donated! See Ms. Hilderbrand with any questions. There are some summer volunteer opportunities posted in the career center, for anyone who needs additional service hours!
