The Marching Panthers concluded a great and rain-soaked season with their final football performance Friday, October 16th. The students perservered through some adverse field conditions to put on a great show. The day before, the band recorded their show songs and handed out some awards, including the 2009 Marching Award to drum captain Tom Hopkins. Earlier on in the week, the band played and marched in downtown Chicago at the annual Columbus Day Parade. Though the parade was short and the weather chilly, the band looked great and was on TV for almost 2 minutes:)
The jazz bands finalized their rosters, and got an unexpected incredible opportunity by being asked to play at a clinic given by sought after bassist Jim Widner at VanderCook University.
