PLAN
The PLAN test is administered to our Sophomore students in the fall. The PLAN test is considered a "pre-ACT" test, which can be a powerful predictor of success on the ACT Assessment. The PLAN has a Career Interest Inventory called UNIACT this component helps students explore personally relevant career options.  Click here to view a practice PLAN test

ACT
The ACT is America's most widely accepted college entrance exam. It assesses high school students' general educational development and their ability to complete college-level work. This multiple choice test covers four skill areas: English, Math, Reading, and Science. The Writing portion is optional and measures skill in planning and writing a short essay.  Click here to view a practice ACT test

The ACT will given at OHS on April 28th as part of the PSAE, if you wish to take it sooner stop in the Career Center/Student Services or register online at www.actstudent.org. 

PSAE
PSAE stands for the Prairie State Achievement Exam. This test is administered to our Junior class on April 23rd and 24th, 2008. The Prairie State Achievement Exam measures student’s achievement relative to Illinois Learning Standards. The PSAE also comprises the ACT assessment in English, reading, mathematics, and science. PSAT
The PSAT is a practice SAT exam. This test is administered to all Juniors in the fall. The PSAT accesses critical reading, mathematics, and writing. The PSAT is also used by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation as an initial screen for entrants in its annual academic competitions for recognition and college scholarships. Consumer Education Proficiency
This is an optional exam given to students who wish to test out of the Consumer Education graduation requirement. The exams covers money management, consumer credit, checking and savings, insurance, taxes and other financial concerns associated with everyday life. The exam is offered two times a year, students may only take the exam once a year; refer to the testing calendar for specific dates and times. Advanced Placement Exams
The AP Examinations are administered each year in May and represent the culmination of college-level work in a given discipline in a secondary school setting. Rigorously developed by committees of college and AP high school faculty, the 35 AP Exams in 20 subject areas test students' ability to perform at a college level. Classes for which an AP exam is offered include Calculus AB and BC, AP European History, AP Chemistry, AP Biology, AP Literature and Comp, AP US History, AP Government and Politics, AP Music Theory, AP Studio Art, AP Statistics.
