Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test (PSAT)

The Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test (PSAT) measures critical reading, math problem-solving, and writing skills developed over many years, both in and out of school. You won’t have to recall facts from literature, history, or science, or math formulas, as this test measures your reasoning and critical thinking skills. A part of the PSAT is the National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (NMSQT). This is the screening test for high school juniors who wish to compete for National Merit Scholarship Corporation programs.

JUNIORS and other interested students may take the PSAT at Oswego High School on Wednesday, October 14th. An additional day, Saturday, October 17th, is available at Oswego East High School for those students who do not want to miss class on the 14th.

Registration for testing at both OHS and OEHS is in OHS Student Services. The cost is $15; and is due at the time of registration. There have been a limited number of tests ordered. Sign up will be on a first come – first serve basis. YOU MUST SIGN UP BY OCTOBER 2nd. For further information, see your counselor.
