Class of 2013
Important Dates!
April 23 & 24 (Tuesday & Wednesday) No attendance for Seniors (College/Career Days)
April 26 (Friday) make sure all fees are paid
All outstanding fees and obligations are due by April 26, 2013 (after this date cash only will be accepted until May 24th). Diploma and final transcripts will not be issued if fees and obligations are owed. Call 630-636-2227 for information on balances owed.
May 11 (Saturday) Senior Prom held at The Abbington
The 2013 Junior/Senior Prom will be held Saturday, May 11th, at The Abbington in Glen Ellyn. Tickets will go on sale April 25th for $85 each, April 26th for $90 each, April 29th for $95 each, and April 30th for $100 each. The tickets will be sold only during the hours of 6:40-7:10 am and 2:30-3:00 pm. In order to purchase tickets you must fill out a Oswego East High School Prom Agreement Form. The forms will be available in the main office beginning April 1st and they will be due April 19th. NO EXCEPTIONS!!!! Forms are to be turned in to the Dean’s office. Tickets will only be sold during those dates. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

May 21 & 22 (Tuesday and Wednesday) Lunch-time pick-up of Gown & Graduation Tickets.
Pick up your graduation gown and tickets during lunch hours (10:26-1:08). Call Herff Jones at (815) 756-4743 to find out the balance due on your graduation gowns. You must finish paying for the gown before you receive it. For those of you who have not ordered your cap and gown, extra gowns will be available on these dates for $60.00 CASH ONLY!! If you do not purchase your cap and gown by May 22nd, you will not be able to participate in the graduation ceremony.
May 13 (Monday) 6:00 pm Senior Awards Night (by invitation only)

May 18 (Saturday) Senior Celebration 2013!
7:30 pm – 1 am at Oswego East High School. Final registration is April 30, no refunds after April 20. Contact information oehsseniorcelebration@comcast.net.
May 23 (Thursday) Academic Excellence Awards Dinner (Top 10% GPA-invitation only)
May 28, 29 & 30 (Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday) Finals

May 31 (Friday) 10:00 am - 12:00 pm Mandatory Graduation Practice
Students will report to the small gym. If you do not come to practice on time, you cannot participate in the graduation ceremony!
May 31 (Friday) 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm Senior Brunch
Whitetail Ridge Golf Club, 7671 Clubhouse Dr in Yorkville – tickets must be purchased in advance at a cost of $13 per person and will go on sale in late April. Listen to the daily announcements on Wolf TV and watch the website for more information.
June 1 (Saturday) 7:00 pm Graduation Ceremony at the NIU Convocation Center
Grads report to the Victor E. Court gym (lower level Convocation Ctr) by 6pm.
If you are a graduate and not participating in the ceremony, please contact Mrs. Weber at 630-636-2245. Also for those not participating, diplomas will be available for pick up in Student Services after May 26th. Diplomas may only be picked up by the graduate.
Ticket Information
Tickets will be distributed when gowns are picked up. Each graduate will be issued 10 tickets for seating in the convocation center. Handicap seating is available.
The graduation ceremony is the capstone activity of one’s high school experience. It is a special occasion that should take place with dignity. The following are guidelines for rehearsal and ceremony expectations.
General Expectations
-All rules and policies of the school will be enforced.
- All outstanding fees and obligations must be paid in advance of the graduation ceremony. No diplomas or transcripts will be issued until these fees have been paid.
-Students must remain properly dressed throughout the ceremony and are expected to follow directions explained during rehearsal or they will be excluded from the ceremony.
-Possession and/or use of any disruptive substance or item will lead to immediate removal.
-DO NOT bring valuables (like your phone or purse) to the ceremony.
Rehearsal Expectations
-Students will arrive on time, follow directions and cooperate during rehearsal.
-Disruptive students will be removed and not allowed to participate in the ceremony.
Ceremony Expectations
-School personnel may remove a student at any time.
-Appropriate dress is the cap and gown (which cannot be altered in any way) with a tie, dress shirt, dress slacks and dress shoes for males. Females must wear a dress or dress pants/skirt and blouse and dress shoes. No blue jeans, tennis shoes or flip flops are allowed.
-Be in your assigned area no later than 6 pm.
Students who possess disruptive objects or who are disruptive will be removed. Caps are not to be thrown at the end of the ceremony for safety reasons.
Diplomas will be picked up following the ceremony when your rental gown and stole are returned. (Students keep the hat and tassel as a keepsake.) No money for outstanding fees and obligations will be accepted at the ceremony. If your outstanding fees and obligations are not paid in full by May 24, 2013 your diploma will NOT be available at the ceremony.
Photography
Oswego East has arranged for professional photographs to be taken during the commencement ceremony as each student receives a diploma cover, by Photography by Feltes. You can pre-register for online image viewing and ordering by visiting their website at www.photographybyfeltes.com.
Guest Expectations
-Arrive on time
-Stay seated during the ceremony. Excessive moving around is a distraction and violators will be asked to leave.
-Be mindful of others who are there to hear their graduates’ speech, song, name, etc ….
-Prohibited items: Balloons, signs, tri-pods, and noise makers

From the main entrance on Lincoln Highway (Rt 38), parking attendants will assist you in one of the lots. There is no fee for parking for this event.
The Convocation Center is located on NIU’s West Campus, north of Lincoln Highway, west of the soccer field and west of Huskie Stadium.
From the East (Oswego)
From I-88: Exit onto Annie Glidden Road. From Annie Glidden Road, turn left (west) onto Lincoln Highway (Rt 38) to the Convocation Center entrance.
From I-90: Exit on to Route 47 South. Take Route 38 West approximately 20 miles to the Convocation Center entrance.
From the West
From I-88: Exit onto Annie Glidden Road. From Annie Glidden Road, turn left (west) onto Lincoln Highway (Rt 38) to the Convocation Center entrance.
From the South and North
From I-39: Exit I -39 to Route 38 East. Travel Route 38 East to the Convocation Center entrance.
