Girl's Swimming
Girls Swimming & Diving Finish 16th in State!
The Oswego Girls Swimming and Diving earned an impressive 16th
place at the state meet thanks to the teamwork of diver Nikki Schrop
and swimmers Nicole Ligeza, Karolina Wartalowicz, Rebecca Hatcher
and Stephanie Komaniecki. The girls beat out both Naperville schools
as well as Neuqua Valley, along with over 500 other Illinois
schools. Nicole Ligeza placed in the top twelve in two events for
the second consecutive year. She was 8th in the 200 im and 6th in
the 100 breaststroke. She earned All State honors in both events.
Karolina Wartalowicz was 3rd in the 100 breaststroke and earned All
State and All-American honors in that event. Karolina's time of
1:03.8 is one of the 12 fastest times ever recorded in the history
of the Illinois State meet. Congratulations to the entire team for a
job well done, and honors well-deserved.
