VarsityWednesday, February 27 Last night the boys basketball team traveled to Waubonsee Valley
for the start of the postseason. The Wolves entered the
Regional tournament as an 11 seed and were matched up with the 7
seed, York High School. The Wolves took a 17-9 record into the
Regional tournament. Pregame festivities started with the
traditional 3-point shoot-out. Jordon Harris was the only Oswego
East participate to advance.
Tuesday, February 19 Tuesday night the Wolves traveled to Minooka High School. Oswego East was looking to bounce back after a tough loss last Friday night to Plainfield South. The Wolves were able to do just that. In the first quarter Zach Pearson helped the Wolves take an early lead as he scored 9 of his 17 points in the first quarter. The Wolves exploded with 25 points in the second quarter. Cameron Fairbairn sparked the team as he had 16 of his game high 24 points in the second quarter. Fairbairn also pulled down 11 rebounds. The Wolves took a 41-26 lead into half-time and never looked back. The final score: OEHS 73, Minooka 53.
The final regular season game is Friday. The Wolves will be playing Plainfield Central at the United Center. Oswego East's first post-season game will be next Wednesday against York High School. Waubonsie Valley will be hosting that game.
Saturday, February 9 Saturday afternoon the Wolves matched up with the cross-town rival Panthers of OHS. Despite being down 27-17 at the half, the Wolves stormed back outscoring the Panthers 24-11 in the 3rd quarter. The Wolves built an 8 point lead in the 4th quarter but the Panthers rallied late in the game. Lionell Holmes hit 3 key free throws to ice the game, he finished with 17 points on the night. Jordon Harris had 12 of his 13 points in the 4th quarter to help the Wolves defeat the Panthers. This makes 5 straight wins over OHS for the Boys Varsity Basketball team.
Friday, February 8 On Friday night the Wolves traveled to Romeoville High School. Oswego East controlled the entire game. The Wolves took a 35-27 lead going into half-time, and were able to finish with a 69-54 win. Lionell Holmes led the Wolves with 15 points and Cameron Fairbairn put up 13 points. Ignas Bilinskas and Jordon Harris each had 10 points.
Tuesday, February 5 Tuesday night the Wolves faced off against the Redskins of Morris High School. In the previous meeting the Wolves were victorious in closely played game. In the second meeting of the year, the Wolves were victorious once again. The Wolves led 21-16 after one half of play. In the third quarter the Wolves pulled away and eventually won the game 56-36. Jordon Harris led the Wolves with 12 points. Lionell Holmes added 10 points. TaDarrius Douglas and Ignas Bilinskas put up 8 and 9 points respectively off the bench.
The Wolves will travel to Romeoville on Friday night, and the game against OHS will be played at 3:00pm on Saturday.
Tuesday, January 29 Tuesday night Neuqua Valley traveled to Oswego East High School
for a game that had post season implications. The Wolves were
looking to bounce back after a heartbreaking lose to Plainfield
North. The task at hand did not look easy as Neuqua Valley walked
in with a significant size advantage over the Wolves. However,
the Wolves were up for the challenge. On the second possession of
the game, the Wolves took the lead 2-0. That lead was short lived
because four minutes later the Wolves trailed 10-2. The Wolves were
able to tie the game 13-13 in the second quarter but trailed at half
24-15. Every time the Wolves pulled within a couple of points
Neuqua Valley would answer and pull ahead by 9 or 10 points.
Heading into the 3rd quarter the Wolves only trailed 29-32 thanks
to a Jordan Harris three pointer at the buzzer. Harris finished
with 14 points. In the 4th quarter Neuqua Valley was not able to
answer any Oswego East run. Thanks to hot shooting my Zach Pearson
who finished with a game high 17 points, the Wolves put themselves
in position to win the game. In the closing moments of regulation
Jordan Harris put in a floater from 5 feet to tie the game, the
first tie since 13-13. In the ensuing position, Neuqua Valley could
not convert a jump-shot and the game went to overtime. The Wolves
outscored Neuqua Valley 6-4 in over time and led for the first time
since 2-0 in the opening moments of the game. Thanks to 3 of 4
from the free throw line, the Wolves won the game 52-50. Friday, January 25 Friday night the Wolves hosted Plainfield North in their second
match up of the year. The Wolves and the Tigers of Plainfield
North both came into the contest 6-1 in conference play. The Wolves
were looking to avenge there only loss in conference, which was to
Plainfield North. In the last meeting, it took two overtimes and a
buzzer beater to decide the game. Despite a slow first half by the
Wolves, the second meeting would go down to the last shot of the
game as well. After one half of play the Wolves trailed 27-20. In
the 3rd quarter, OEHS began to chip away at the Plainfield North
lead. Going into the 4th quarter the Wolves were down only 46-41.
Finally, in the 4th quarter the Wolves came roaring back to tie the
game late in the quarter, thanks in part to 18 second half points by
Lionell Holmes (20 in the game). The Wolves were able to tie the
game 56-56 with under 2 minutes to play. However, Plainfield North
was able to control the ball for virtually the remainder of the
game. The Tigers were able to sink a shot with only 2 seconds
remaining on the clock to take the lead 58-56. The Wolves were not
able to get of a shot of the ensuing inbounds play. The final
score: Plainfield North 58- Oswego East 56. Zach Pearson and
Brad Crackel had 8 points and 7 points respectively. Friday, January 18 On Friday night the Oswego East Boys Basketball team traveled down to Morris for a Southwest Prairie Conference match-up. The Wolves jumped out to an early lead thanks to Zach Pearson who hit three 3-point shots in the first half. Pearson finished the game with 13 points. The Wolves were able to sustain their early lead until the final buzzer. Final score: OEHS 69, Morris 62. Lionell Holmes led the Wolves with 14 points. Brad Crackel added 11 points. And recently promoted sophomore, Jordan Harris put up 9 points.
The Wolves improved to 11-7 overall and 6-1 in the Southwest Prairie Conference. On Friday , January 25th the Wolves will host Plainfield North and try to avenge their only conference lose.
Tuesday, January 15 Tuesday night the Wolves traveled to Streamwood High School looking for their 10th win of the season. The Wolves found themselves in an early hole trailing Streamwood 9-0 after the only two minutes of play. Despite the early deficit, the Wolves were able to tie the game by half, 28-28. In the second half, the Wolves took control and led the rest of the game. The Streamwood Sabers kept the game within reach until the last minute of the game. The Wolves pulled ahead and won 67-60. Lionell Holmes led the Wolves with 16 points. Zach Pearson put up 15 points. And Cameron Fairbairn had 11 points and 8 rebounds. The Wolves are now 10-7 overall and 5-1 in conference. On Friday the Wolves will head south to Morris looking to stay atop the SPC Conference.
Tuesday, January 8 Tuesday night the Oswego East Wolves took on the Crystal Lake South Gators at Aurora University. The Wolves got off to a slow start in the first half and found themselves trailing 28-21 at half-time. In the second half the Wolves cut into the Gator's lead. Throughout most of the 3rd and 4th quarters the game went back and forth. In the closing seconds the Wolves found themselves down by 1 point. TaDarrius Douglas got his hands on a lose ball and made a shot to put the Wolves up by 1 with only 6 seconds remaining on the clock. On the final possession of the game, Crystal Lake South was able to put up a shot at the buzzer despite almost turning the ball over. Unfortunately for the Wolves, the final buzzer sounded just as the ball went through the rim. Crystal Lake South 55, Oswego East 54. Lionell Holmes led the Wolves with 22 points and TaDarrius Douglas had 9 points.
The Wolves will look to rebound this Friday as they host Minooka High School for Senior Night.
Friday, January 4 On Friday night the Wolves were on the road facing conference foe
Plainfield South. The Wolves came into the game with a 3-1
record in conference which was good for a share of the conference
lead. The Wolves were victorious on Friday night winning
66-42. The Wolves controlled the entire game thanks to hot
shooting by Zach Pearson who had 18 points in the first half and
finished with 21 points. Lionell Holmes put up 19 points of
his own. The Wolves are now 4-1 in the SPC and 8-6 overall.
After starting the season 1-5, the Wolves have won 7 over their last
8 contests. Friday night the Wolves hosted conference foe Plainfield Central. The Wolves came in winning their last two games against Oswego and Romeoville. In Friday night's game the Wolves jumped out to a 7 point lead after one quarter of play, but found themselves behind 38-37 at the half. In third quarter the Wolves took the lead and kept it the remainder of the game thanks to the hot shooting of senior Zach Pearson, who finished with 21 points. Lionel Holmes added 16 points, and Brad Crackel put up 15 points on 6 for 6 shooting from the field. TaDarrius Douglas came off the bench to provide the Wolves with a strong defensive presence. Final score: Oswego East 75, Plainfield Central 69.
The Wolves are now 4-5 overall and 3-1 in the Southwest Prairie Conference. The Wolves play next on December 26th at the Waubonsie Valley Tournament.
Wednesday, December 12 Due to inclement weather the Wolves hosted the Romeoville Spartans on Wednesday night instead of Tuesday night. After one half of basketball the Spartans led the Wolves 26 to 18. In the second half the Wolves picked up the defense and only trailed 30-34 after three quarters. In the fourth quarter, the Wolves took control of the game, outscoring Romeoville 23 to 11. The Wolves were victorious 53-45. Lionel Holmes and Zach Pearson led the Wolves in scoring with 17 and 15 respectively. Cameron Fairbairn put in a solid effort with 8 points and 10 rebounds. The Wolves will host Plainfield Central on Friday.
Friday, December 7 The Oswego East Wolves hosted their cross town rival Oswego High School on Friday night. The Wolves were coming off of a heart breaking loss in double over time to Plainfield North and were looking bounce back with win against OHS. The Wolves did exactly that! Oswego East 55, Oswego 34. The Wolves controlled the entire game. The leading scorers were Lionel Holmes and Zach Pearson with 16 and 12 respectively. Ignas Bilinskas played key minutes and provided a great spark off of the bench. But the story of the night was the Wolves defense led by De'Eric Fisher who held Oswego's leading scorer to only 5 points. Fisher added 8 points of his own on the offensive side of the ball.
Friday, November 30 Friday night Oswego East hosted the first boys basketball game at home this year against East Aurora. The Wolves had an early lead against East Aurora, but went into half time tied 30-30. The Wolves were out scored by 11 in the second half and fell to the Tomcats 63-52. Zach Pearson lead the Wolves with 21 points. Nick Petkunas put in 10 points.
Monday, November 19 The Boys Varsity Basketball team tipped-off the season with a 66-58 win over DeKalb Monday evening. Lionell Holmes led the way with 23 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists. Brad Crackel and Zach Pearson added 10 points each, with 8 and 4 rebounds respectively.
SophomoreTuesday, February 5 In a conference battle, the Wolves went up against Morris. Defense was key as the Wolves won 41-19.
Thursday, January 31 In the cross town rivalry the Wolves traveled to Oswego for a conference battle. In a tough, physical game the Wolves lost 45-29.
Tuesday, January 28 In a tough contest, the Wolves faced Neuqua Valley. Never getting over the hump, the Wolves lost 52-44.
Thursday, January 24 In a conference battle, the Sophomores of Oswego East battled against Plainfield North. Showing strong defense and great hustle, the Wolves won 65-38. Latrell Viser had 19 points and Dereck Drew chipped in with 10 points.
Friday, January 18 On Friday evening the Oswego East Sophomores battled Morris. In a tight battle, the Wolves came out with the victory 53-48. Latrell Viser led the team in scoring with 17 points.
Tuesday, January 15 The Wolves were in action to take on the Streamwood Sabers. In a high scoring game, the Wolves prevailed with a 66-59 victory. Leading the way was Kelly Garrigus with 19 points, Latrell Viser with 13 points, and Darius Williams with 11 points.
Friday, January 11 On Friday evening the Oswego East Sophomores took on Minooka. Defense and good outside shooting kept the Wolves in charge, and at halftime the Wolves took a 30-20 lead. In the second half, Oswego East held Minooka to 14 points and won the game 68-34. Jordan Harris led all scores with 32 points. Johnny Savu led the team in blocks, and Dereck Drew led the team in rebounds.
Tuesday, January 8 At a game that played on the Aurora University campus, Oswego East went to battle with Crystal Lake South. In a game in which the Wolves played aggressive defense and patient offense, the Wolves was sparked by a 3 pointer drained by James Washington. The Wolves won 47-31 with balanced scoring from Jordan Harris with 13 points, Dereck Drew with 7 points, C.J. Underwood with 7 points, and Johnny Savu with 6 points.
Friday, January 4 In a conference battle the Oswego East Wolves battled the Plainfield South Cougars. Hot shooting by Kelly Garrigus, four three pointers in the first half, and stifling defense by the entire team helped the Wolves win 56-22. Kelly Garrigus lead the way with 18 points, Ryan Cockrin had 6, and Nehemiah Harris added 6.
Friday, December 28 In the consolation championship of the St. Charles East Tournament, the Wolves faced Waubonsie Valley. Jordan Harris heated up early by hitting three 3s in the first half. The Wolves finished the game strong and won 50-38 to take home the consolation championship. Leading the way was Jordan Harris with 21, Darius Williams with 14, and Dereck Drew with 7 points.
Thursday, December 27 In the consolation bracket of the St. Charles East Holiday Tournament, the Wolves faced the Naperville North Huskies. The Wolves got off to a slow start and trailed 14-6 at the end of the 1st quarter. Darius Williams sparked the Wolves in the 2nd quarter, and the Wolves led 22-18 at halftime. Defense was key in the second half, and the Wolves prevailed 56-34. Leading the way was Darius Williams with 21, Dereck Drew with 9, and Kelly Garrigus with 8.
Wednesday, December 26 The Oswego East Sophomores tipped off the St. Charles East Holiday Tournament against the host team. The Wolves came out slow in the first half and trailed at halftime by 12 points. The Wolves could not get back on track and lost 50-36.
Friday, December 14 The Oswego East Sophomore Wolves got their sixth win of the season by defeating Plainfield Central 49-31. Defense was the key to victory; the Wolves help Plainfield Central to 13 points in the second half. A balanced scoring attack was led by Austin Keys with 11 points, Jordan Harris with 10 points, and Nehemiah Harris with 8 points.
Wednesday, December 12 On Wednesday night, the Oswego East Sophomores went against the Spartans of Romeoville. The Wolves went up 33-19 at the half, but the Spartans kept the game close and got within 8 points in the 4th quarter. However, the Wolves finished the game strong wining 59-50. Jordan Harris led the team in scoring with 21, C.J. Underwood chipped in with 10 points
Thursday, December 6 In a thrilling overtime game, the Oswego East Sophomore team lost a tough game to the Oswego Panthers 65-60. Leading the Wolves in scoring was Jordan Harris with 25 points, Dereck Drew with 16 points, and Johnny Savu with 10 points.
Tuesday, December 4 To open conference play the Oswego East Wolves had a tough test against the Plainfield North Tigers. After trailing by four points in the first quarter, the Wolves showed strong defense and took the lead heading into the fourth quarter. Leading by one point with 53 seconds left, Dereck Drew made a steal and finished the lay-up to seal the win for the Wolves. Jordan Harris led the team in scoring with 20 points, Dereck Drew had 18 points and 8 rebounds, and Johnny Savu had 10 points and 3 blocks.
Friday, November 30 In the fifth game of the season, the Sophomore Wolves had the challenge of facing the East Aurora Tomcats. In a tight game early, the Wolves took a 15-12 lead after the first quarter. The Wolves went on a 10-0 run and never looked back winning 59-38. Jordan Harris led the team in scoring with 18, Darius William added 14, and Austin Keys and Dereck Drew both chipped in with 10 points.
Saturday, November 24 In the consolation game of the tournament, the Wolves faced another tough challenger in the Geneva Vikings. In a tough shooting night, the Wolves could never get over the hump and fell to the Vikings 44-31.
Friday, November 23 In the third round of the Hoops for Healing Tournament, the Wolves went into battle with the Naperville North Huskies. In a game that went back and forth for four quarters, the Wolves could not score the game tying basket in the closing seconds and fell to the Huskies 48-44. The Wolves were let be Jordan Harris with 21 points, Darius Williams with 10 points, and Austin Keys with 8 points.
Tuesday, November 20 In the second round of the Hoops for Healing Tournament, the OEHS Sophomore Boys Basketball team took Walter Payton College Prep. The Wolves started the game with a 13-2 run to end the first quarter and never looked back. The Wolves were victorious with a 59-21 win. Jordan Harris led the Wolves in scoring with 8 points, and Dereck Drew led the team in rebounding with 9 rebounds. Darius Williams, Johnny Savu, and Nehemiah Harris played great defensively causing many turnovers and blocks.
Monday, November 19 The Oswego East Sophomore Boys Basketball team tipped off their season against West Chicago in the Hoops for Healing Basketball Tournament. The Wolves were able to come away with a 46-27 victory. The Wolves were led by Jordan Harris with 17 points, Dereck Drew led the team in rebounding with 10 rebounds, and Johnny Savu and C. J. Underwood both had strong all around games.
FreshmanMonday, February 18 On Monday the boys suffered a tough loss to a big Minooka team 46-43. The Wolves were led by Wesley Brooks with 17 points. The freshman have their last game on Wednesday at Morris at 6:30 where they will play Plainfield Central for 3rd place.
Saturday, February 16 The Freshman Boys Basketball team won the first game of the conference tournament on Saturday defeating Morris 42-36 coming back from 14 down in the 3rd to win. The Wolves were led by Wesley Brooks with 16 points.
Thursday, February 14 On Thursday the A-team suffered a tough lose to Minooka 62-53. The Wolves were led by Wesley Brooks with 20 points and Adam Reaves with 15. The B-team beat Minooka 48-38 and were led by Doniel Coleman with 19 points.
Monday, February 11 The Freshman Boys Basketball team defeated Plainfield Central 59-51 in overtime. The Wolves were led by Sean Gant with 14 points. In the B-game Doniel Coleman led the Wolves to victory with 19 points and the game winner.
Tuesday, February 5 The Freshman Boys Basketball team picked up two more wins last night at home over Morris. The A team, led by Erek Drew with 14 points, won 56-37. The B team, led by Adam Kaczmarek with 13 points, won 48-31.
Saturday, February 2 The Boys Freshman Basketball Team defeated crosstown rival OHS 63-39 in the A game. The Wolves were once again led by Wesley Brooks (21 points) and Sean Gant (12 points). In the B game, the Freshman Boys suffocated the Panthers 66-22 lead by lead by Doniel Coleman (20 points) and Adam Kaczmarek (13 points).
Thursday, January 31 In "A" game action, Neuqua Valley nipped the OEHS Freshman Boys 49-47. Wesley Brooks lead the Wolves with 16 points and Sean Gant added 12. In the B game, Neuqua was to much for the Wolves winning 54-35.
Monday, January 28 On Monday, the Freshman Boys Basketball Team returned to their
winning ways defeating Plainfield South 56-36. The Wolves were
led by Marcus Jones with 22 points. In B game action, Doniel
Coleman led the Wolves to a 48-23 victory with 17 points. Thursday, January 24 The Freshman Boys Basketball Team suffered only their second loss of the season to top ranked Plainfield North 36-35. Erek Drew lead the Wolves with 12 points. In the B game, OEHS lost 54-48. Alex Pena lead the way with 11 points.
Saturday, January 20 The Freshman Boys Basketball team continues to win and now the A team has a record of 13-1 after a 65-37 win over conference rival Morris. Wesley Brooks lead the way with 23 points. The B team also continued to win with a 49-40 victory over Morris. Malcom Washington, and Adam Kaczmarek lead the way with 13 points.
Tuesday, January 15 The Freshman Boys Basketball Team continued its winning ways defeating Streamwood 64-36 in the A game, and 47-38 in the B game. Leading the way in the A game was Wesley Brooks with 21points and Marcus Jones with 19 points and 13 rebounds.
Saturday, January 12 The Freshman Boys Basketball Team continued its winning ways defeating previously undefeated conference rival Minooka. The A team won 66-61 and was lead by Wesley Brooks with 25 points. The B team won 63-45 and was lead by Alex Pena who dropped in 22.
Tuesday, January 8 The Freshman Boys Basketball team defeated Crystal Lake South 66-23 in the A game and 49-26 in the B game. The Wolves were lead by Letrell Visor in the A game with 22 and the B team was lead by Doniel Coleman with 15.

Glenbard East Holiday Tournament The Freshman Boys A and B Basketball teams won the Glenbard East Holiday Tournment by outscoring their opponents by 105 points! Congratulations players and coaches! The A scores were as follows:

Saturday, December 15 The Freshman Boys Basketball A and B teams defeated Plainfield Central 74-53 and 37-33 respectively. Wesley Brooks and Letrell Viser lead the Wolves in the A game with 23 points each. In the B game OJ Graham lead the way with 10 points.
Monday, December 10 The Freshman Boys' Basketball team defeated Romeoville in both the A & B games. The Wolves won the A-game 60-46. Leading the way was Letrell Viser with 20 points and Sean Gant with 13 points. In the B game, the Wolves won by the score of 59-31. Alex Pena lead the way with 15 points.
Saturday, December 8 The Freshman A & B basketball teams defeated Oswego 70-27 and 66-18 respectively. All players contributed both offensively and defensively in the games. Wesley Brooks led the way in the A-game with 16 points. In the B-game Blake Davis led the Wolves with 19 points.
Monday, December 3 The Freshman A team lost to Plainfield North 50-47. Wesley Brooks had 17points, 5 steals and 5 assists. The Freshman B team lost to Plainfield North 51-42. Ricky White led the Wolves with 15 points.
Friday, November 30 Freshman A beat East Aurora 72-40 . Marucs Jones had 30 points, and Erek Drew had 18 points. In the B-game Oswego East defeated East Aurora 60-25. Alex Pena led the way with 12 points.
