Football

Banquet and Awards Presentation Announced!

The 2009 Oswego East Wolves Football Banquet and Awards Presentation will be held Thursday, November 12 at OEHS.  Dinner will be held in the cafeteria at 6 PM with the awards presentation to follow in the Performing Arts Center from 7-8:30 PM.
 
Dinner will be prepared by Aramark and will include:  BBQ Chicken, baked mostaccoli, macaroni & cheese, whipped potatoes with gravy, corn, tossed salad, dinner rolls, frosted brownies, lemonade, fruit punch and coffee.
 
The cost of dinner is $10 per adult and $5 per OEHS football participant.  Please return the dinner reservation form with payment no later than Friday, November 6.

Varsity

Friday, August 28

The OEHS Wolves Varsity Football Team dropped their home opener 21-6 to the Benet Academy Redwings.  OEHS trailed 7-6 heading into the 4th Quarter before two miscues led to 14 unanswered points for Benet.  Leading the Wolves defensively were Chris Fagan and Calvin Underwood.  Antoine Allen-Jackson scored the lone TD for the Wolves.

JV

Saturday, August 29

The Wolves hosted Benet Academy in a JV game on Saturday. The final score of the game was 14-0 in favor of Benet. Benet’s touchdowns came in the 2nd quarter with 3:07 left to go, and the second touchdown came with 2:15 left in the game. On the offensive side of the football the Wolves John Garza ran the ball well, while Tyler Clark added some yardage on the ground as well as in the air. Most of the game was dominated by defense on both sides. The Wolves were lead defensively by very good linebacker play out of Scott Olson and Eddie Legaspie. The Wolves also forced a turnover on defense.

Sophomore

Friday, October 23

The Oswego East Sophomore Football Team finished the season by beating Plainfield South last Friday by the score of 13-6.  Jake Aceret led the Wolves with 167 yards rushing on 35 carries.  Ryan Kossakowski and Kalman Stokes combined for 60 receiving yards.  Gio Horning recorded 5 tackles and a fumble recovery to lead the Wolves defense.  John DeVries and Brendan Sullivan both recorded interceptions.  Congratulations to the OEHS Sophomores on finishing the season 8-1 overall and 6-1 in the conference.

Friday, October 16

The Oswego East Sophomore Football Team improved their record to 7-1 last Friday beating Plainfield East 42-20.  The offense was led by a group of players combining for 466 total yards.  Dakoda Skenandore completed 6/7 passes for 201 yards and two touchdowns while also rushing the ball for 72 yards and two touchdowns. Brendan Sullivan rushed for 74 yards and 1 touchdown while also throwing for 29 yards and 1 touchdown.  Ryan Kossakowski caught three passes for 101 yards and 1 touchdown and Jermaine Campbell added five catches for 150 yards and 2 touchdowns.  The defense was led by Gio Hornig with eight tackles, Sterling Saldano with five tackles and a sack, and Matt Schultz with five tackles. 

Friday, October 9

The Oswego East Sophomore Football Team improved their record to 6-1 by beating Plainfield North last Friday by the score of 34-6.  Dakoda Skenandore threw for 127 yards and two touchdowns and also ran for two touchdowns.  Jimmy Bitner and Jermaine Campbell each had a receiving touchdown.  The Wolves defense was led by Collin Griffin, Joe Marchert, and Aaron Wight.  Collin Griffin had two interceptions, one returned for a touchdown.  Joe Marchert and Aaron Wight accounted for the other two interceptions.

Friday, October 2

The OEHS Sophomore Football Team improved their record to 5-1 by defeating Romeoville last Friday by the score of 34-19.  Dakoda Skenandore and Terrance McKinney combined for the Wolves five rushing touchdowns.  Tony Pendleton, Dimitri Batisas, Mark McCallum, Brandon Rivera, Ryan Kossakowski and Kyle Weiskircher provided great blocking in allowing the Wolves to rush for 336 yards.  The defense was led by Joe Marchert, John DeVries, Chris Horbacz, Javier Chavez and Jorge Salgado.  Joe Marchert recorded an interception and fumble recovery.

Saturday, September 26

The Oswego East Sophomore Football Team played Oswego in a B-Game this past Saturday. The Wolves could not sustain any offensive production in falling to the Panthers. The offense was led by Travis Hurd, Jason Spitz, Tyler Memming and Alex Aghyere. Defensively, the Wolves were led by AJ Biagoni, Luis Corona, Darren Dial and Tyler Glende with Glende recording an interception.

Friday, September 25

The Oswego East Sophomore Football Team improved their record to 4-1 by beating Minooka last Friday 25-20. The offense, led by Dakoda Skenandore, racked up 348 total yards. Skenandore completed 10 passes for 158 yards and one touchdown and also ran for 52 yards and two touchdowns. Jimmy Bitner, Jermaine Campbell, Ryan Kossakowski and Kalman Stokes combined for the receptions with Bitner recording a touchdown reception. The defense was led by Aaron Wight, Gio Hornig, Matt Schultz and Joe Marchert. Wight led the team with 10 tackles and an Interception. Matt Schultz also recorded an interception.

Friday, September 18

The Wolves improved their record to 3-1 last Friday by defeating Plainfield Central 9-3. The Wolves compiled 314 yards of offense but were only able to capitalize with one touchdown by Jonny Perry. Dakoda Skenandore threw for 128 yards and Terrance McKinney rushed for 123 yards. Jimmy Bitner, Jermaine Campbell, Ryan Kossakowski and Kalman Stokes combined for the Wolves 11 receptions. The defense limited the Wildcats to a 1st quarter field goal. Javier Chavez and Joey Marchert led the Wolves in tackles. The defense was able to pressure the Wildcats into two turnovers and recorded a safety. Javier Chavez, Aaron Wight and Sterling Saldano each recorded a sack and Brandon Baumann recorded an interception. 

Friday, September 11

The Oswego East Sophomore Football Team dropped their first game of the season to Oswego last Friday 20-19. Dakoda Skenandore led the offense throwing for 253 yards and two touchdowns while also rushing for a touchdown. Jacob Aceret, Jimmy Bitner, Jermaine Campbell, Ryan Kossakowski and Kalman Stokes combined for the Wolves 23 receptions. The defense was led by Matt Schultz and Javier Chavez.

Friday, September 4

The Oswego East Sophomores improved their record to 2-0 by beating Larkin this past Friday. Six different Wolves reached the end zone. Scoring for the Wolves were Terrance McKinney, John Perry, Brendan Sullivan, Jermaine Campbell, Ryan Kossakowski and Alex Agahyere. The defense had another strong game led by Matt Schultz, Aaron Wight and Javier Claycomb. Travis Hurd recorded an interception while Brandon Baumann, Daren Dial and AJ Biagioni all recovered fumbles.

Friday, August 28

The Oswego East Sophomore Football Team opened the 2009 season by defeating the Benet Academy Redwings by the score of 12-0. The offense was led by Terrance McKinney and Jermaine Campbell. Terrance McKinney scored both of the Wolves touchdowns. The defense was led by Chris Horbacz, Jonny Perry, and Colin Griffin who each recorded interceptions in helping the Wolves to their first win of the season. The Wolves will travel to Elgin next Friday night.

Thursday, October 22

The Freshman Wolves ended up their season with a big win against Plainfield South High School 40-0.  The Wolves dominated on both sides of the ball giving up only 2 first downs and not having to punt the ball.  The Wolves ended with the first winning record at the freshman level in Oswego East history at 5-3-1.

Thursday, October 15

The Freshman Wolves started homecoming weekend off on the right foot with the A team winning 50 - 0 and the B team winning 6 - 0.  The Wolves put up 50 points on just 280 yards of offense.  The defense helped fuel the fire with causing 3 turnovers.  The Wolves are now 4-3-1 on the year.

Thursday, October 8

The Freshman Wolves tied PNHS Thursday night 14-14.  The Wolves played a tough game and left it all on the field.  Driving down the field OEHS went for a game winning field goal only to see it go wide left.

Thursday, October 1

The Wolves had two huge wins Thursday night against Romeoville 40-0 for the A team and 12-0 for the B team.  The Wolves offense racked up 315 yards of total offense, while pitching a shutout on defense and causing four turnovers.  The Wolves next game is home against PNHS. 

Thursday, September 24

The Freshman Wolves lost a tough game Thursday night against Minooka.  The A team lost 27-12.  After scoring with 4 minutes left in the 4th quarter and trying an onside kick the Indians went down and sealed the deal with their final score.

Thursday, September 17

The Freshman Wolves won both games defeating Plainfield Central 40-0 in the A game and 8-0 in the B game.  The Wolves' Scooter Smith, Chris Cooper, Thomas Wilder, Sean Kennedy, Jordan Sullivan and Nayib Sanchez reached the endzone Thursday night behind the excellent blocking of their offensive line (Bryan Caldwell, Brandon Nguyen, Kiilian Mills, Chris Kiebles, and Eric Dowler).  The Wolves defense held Plainfield Central to 0 points.  The defense was led by Brandon Nguyen, Killian Mills, and Gunner Mlsna. 

Thursday, September 10

The Freshman Wolves lost their second game of the season Thursday to OHS 37-20.  The Wolves 200 yards of offense proved to not be enough against the Panthers.  Scooter Smith caught a pair of touchdowns and Chris Cooper ran for another.  The Wolves' defense showed up as usual ready to battle to the end.  Keon Dantzler intercepted a pass in the 3rd quarter to try and swing the momentum but the Wolves came up short.

Thursday, September 3

The Wolves Freshman Football Team had a big 38 to 12 win Thursday against Larkin (Elgin).  In the first half the Wolves were running on all cylinders putting up 32 points.  Chris Cooper contributed two scores for the  Wolves while Sean Kennedy and Jordan Sullivan each put the ball into the endzone.  The Wolves defense came ready to play as well.  Only giving up 6 points on a flea flicker.  Chase Skanadore and Gunner Mlsna had a big day scoring for the Wolves' defense  The other 6 points were given up when Larkin ran the Wolves' first punt of the year back for a touchdown. 

Saturday, August 29

The Freshman Wolves lost a tough one Saturday to the Benet Academy Redwings.  The Wolves recovered the opening kickoff and three plays later scored on a 2-yard TD run by Jordan Sullivan.  The Wolves would stuff Benet 7 plays in a row in the red zone before allowing the Redwings to score and kick an extra point to put them up 7-6 for the first half. The Wolves traded field position with Benet for most of the third quarter until a 50-yard run pushed Benet ahead 14-6.  The game came down to a 4th and 4 for the Wolves with under 2 minutes left as the Wolves came up short by less than a chain link.  The combination of Sean Kennedy and Chris Cooper combined for 106 rushing yards and Thomas Wilder led the Wolves with 30 receiving yards.  The Wolves face Larkin this Thursday beginning at 5 PM at Larkin High School.
