Varsity Results
East Aurora Holiday Tournament
The Wolves (8-4, 3-1) finished second in the East Aurora Holiday Tournament. The Wolves used successive victories over Belvedere North, Urban Prep, and 13th ranked East Aurora, to reach the championship game against Peoria Central. The Wolves fell to Central in the Championship game 76-69.
Jay Harris (1st team), Sean Gant (2nd team), and Wesley Brooks (2nd Team) were all named all-tournament at the East Aurora Holiday Tournament.
Friday, December 18
The Wolves moved to 5-3 overall and 3-1 in the SWPC with a 59-55 victory over Romeoville. Leading by one at the half following a Johnny Savu put-back to close the second period, the Wolves used a 17 point 3rd quarter to extend their lead to 8 by end of the third quarter. Romeoville fought back to within 2 in the final minutes, but Jay Harris sank 2 free throws with just seconds remaining to ice the game for the Wolves. Harris led all scorers with 24 points, while Sean Gant had 14 to go along with his 6 rebounds, 3 steals and 2 assists.
Friday, December 11
The Wolves (4-3, 1-1) moved to the right side of .500 on Friday with a 65-54 win over Plainfield South. The Wolves were able to hold off a 4th Quarter run by the Cougars, going 14 of 19 from the free throw line in the last stanza. Jay Harris led the way with 24, while Wesley Brooks added 19.
Tuesday, December 8
The Wolves (3-3, 1-1) evened their record with a victory over Plainfield Central Tuesday night, 63-56. The Wolves used an outstanding defensive effort to limit Central to 22 first half points. Leading the charge for the Wolves defensivly were Derek Drew and Kenny Battle who each recorded two steals. Jay Harris led all scorers with 22 points, while 11 Wolves tallied scores.
Friday, December 5
The Wolves (2-3, 0-1) dropped a heart breaker to cross-town rival Oswego Saturday 82-78 in double overtime. The Wolves, who trailed by 13 at the half, used a 24 point 4th quarter to move the score to even at the end of regulation before succumbing in the second overtime. Jay Harris led all scorers with 32 points, all of which came after the intermission.
Friday, November 27
Oswego East evened up their record at 2-2 on the season with a 73-45 victory over West Chicago on Saturday. The Wolves forced 18 turnovers on the way to holding the Wildcats to 45 points. Johnny Savu led an excellent defensive effort taking 2 charges and collecting 3 steals. Kenny Battle led all scorers with 14 points while Sean Gant and Wesley Brooks went for 12 and 9, respectively.
Wednesday, November 25
The Wolves fell to 1-2 in the Hoops for Healing Thanksgiving Tournament at Oswego Friday with a loss to Naperville North. Trailing 21-8 after one, the Wolves were able to close the gap to six before half with a spark from Darius Williams (six points) who had a steal and a lay in and another which resulted in a foul. However, North used an 8-0 run to open the 3rd quarter to pull away from the Wolves for good, en route to their 67-39 win. Sean Gant turned in a strong performance with 13 points and 5 rebounds for the Wolves.
Tuesday, November 24
Oswego East forced 5 turnovers in the first three minutes against Marmion to set the tone in their 59-40 win. The Wolves constant pressure helped them jump out to a 5 point lead in opening quarter and then extend that lead to 16 by the half. Wesley Brooks led the Wolves with 20 while Adam Reaves and Marcus Jones chipped in 10 and 8, respectively. The Wolves moved to 1-1 on the season.
Monday, November 23
Oswego East was tipped by DeKalb, 60-58, in the opening game of the Hoops for Healing tournament at Naperville North. The Wolves led most of the way but failed to close the door in the final stanza as the Barbs scored 22 points in the 4th quarter. Wesley Brooks led the Wolves with 19 points and 4 assists, while Sean Gant and Austin keys chipped in 9 a piece.

Thursday, Febuary 25
In the season finale, the Wolves traveled to face the Plainfield North Tigers. The Wolves got off to a fast start by taking an early 10 point lead behind the strong play of Jermaine Campbell, Ricky Elders, and Josh Hicks. The Wolves led 25-9 at the half. In the second half, the Tigers came out scoring and tied the game at 29. Offensive rebounding by C.J. Vaughn and Jermaine Campbell helped push the lead to 6 at the end of the 3rd quarter. Forced turnovers and key free-throws helped the Wovles get the 55-39 victory. All 14 players gave huge contributions in the win. The Wolves finish the season 23-3 and SPC conference champions.
Tuesday, February 23
In the last home game of the season, the Oswego East Wolves faced a tough Nequa Valley team. Although the Wolves trailed at the end of the 1st quarter, Jermaine Campbell and Kalman Stokes kept the Wolves close. The Wolves trailed 30-28 at the half. In the second half, the defense of intensity of Kenny Battle Jr. and Kwonnie Bates helped the Wolves attain the lead. Big shots by Thomas Wilder and C.J. Vaughn helped the Wolves secure a 63-61 victory. Leading scorers were Kenny Battle Jr. with 18, Thomas Wilder with 13, and C.J. Vaugn with 10. The Wolves are now 22-3.
Friday, February 19
On Friday night, the Wolves traveled to take on conference opponent Plainfield East. The Wolves got off to an early lead behind scoring from Jermaine Campbell, and the tenacious defense of Kwonnie Bates, Ricky Elders, and Troy Ross. The Wolves led by 8 at the half and never looked back. Although the Wolves got off to a slow start in the 3rd quarter, Kenny Battle Jr., Thomas Wilder, and Demarez McWright paced the Wolves scoring, and the Wolves won 51-31. Kalman Stokes and Jermaine Campbell each had 10, Kenny Battle Jr. had 9, and C.J. Vaughn added 8.
Tuesday, February 16
On Tuesday night the Wolves traveled to face Minooka. The Wolves got off to an early lead, led by Jermaine Campbell, and never looked back. Josh Hicks finished the first half with two 3-pointers, and the Wolves led 25-17 at the half. Thomas Wilder and C.J. Vaughn caught the hot hand in the second half and the Wolves took the victory 53-36. Jermaine Campbell had 12, Thomas Wilder had 10, and Josh Hicks and Kalman Stokes each added 8 points.
Friday, February 12
On Friday the Oswego East Wolves were home to face Plainfield South. The Wolves got off to a strong start behind the shooting of C.J. Vaughn and the post play of Kalman Stokes. Troy Ross ended the 1st half with a 3 pointer, and the Wolves led 39-13 at the half. In the second half, Josh Hicks, Troy Ross, and Ricky Elders led the charge, and the Wolves won 75-40. Leading scorers were Jermaine Campbell with 14, C.J. Vaughn with 13, Troy Ross with 10, and Kalman Stokes and Josh Hicks with 8 points.
Monday, February 8
On Monday night, the Wolves faced Plainfield Central. The Wolves got off to an early lead behind the good guard play of Thomas Wilder and C.J. Vaughn. Although the Wolves were up by 12 at the half, the lead slowly dwindled, and the team faced a 7 point deficit with 2:30 left in the game. Pressure defense and key baskets by Kalman Stokes, Thomas Wilder, and the game winning lay-up by Kenny Battle Jr. gave the Wolves the 59-57 win. Leading scorers were Kenny Battle Jr. with 19, C.J. Vaughn with 11, and Thomas Wilder and Kalman Stokes with 8 points.
Saturday, February 6
On Saturday the Woves battled the Metea Valley Mustangs. The Wolves got off to a strong start behind Ricky Elders and Jimmie Bitner. In the second half, John Ramos and Kwonnie Bates continued the strong play, and the Wolves won 61-23. Ricky Elders had 22 and John Ramos added 14.
Friday, February 5
On Friday night, the Wolves took on the Romeoville Spartans. In a close game throughout, the Wolves took a 4 point lead going into the 4th quarter. Late in the game the Wolves were down 1 and could not capitalize on a steal and fell short losing 51-50.
Thursday, January 28
On Thursday night the Oswego East Wolves traveled to take on the Oswego Panthers. Although the Wolves came out slow, Kwonnie Bates and Josh Hicks sparked the team in the 1st half to tie the score at 28 at the half. In the 3rd quarter, an energetic Wolves team took the lead behind strong play from Jermaine Campbell and Kalman Stokes. In the 4th quarter, the ball control of Thomas Wilder, and the free throw shooting of C.J. Vaughn and Kalman Stokes helped the Wolves hold on for the 65-56 victory. Leading the team was Jermaine Campbell with 17 points and 9 rebounds, C.J. Vaughn with 15, and Kwonnie Bates and Kalman Stokes with 13.
Tuesday, January 26
The Sophomore Wolves traveled to play against the Streamwood Sabres. After a slow start, Jermaine Campbell and Thomas Wilder picked up the intensity to give the Wolves the lead at the half. In the second half, key scoring from C.J. Vaughn, Ricky, Elders, and Josh Hicks, plus a big one-handed dunk by Kalman Stokes helped lead the Wolves to an 83-40 victory. Top scorers were Jermaine Campell with 16, Kalman Stokes with 14, C.J. Vaughn with 12, Thomas Wilder with 7, and Ricky Elders, Josh Hicks, and Kwonnie Bates with 6.
Friday, January 22
On Friday night, the Wolves took on conference rival Plainfield North. The Wolves got out to a 7-point 1st quarter lead behind scoring from Kalman Stokes and Thomas Wilder. The lead was extended to 15 at the half, behind the 3-point shooting of C.J. Vaughn and Josh Hicks. In the second half, John Ramos and Kwonnie Bates continued the offensive effort, and the Wolves won 59-33.
Tuesday, January 19
In an out of conference match-up the Wolves took on Willowbrook. Hot 3-point shooting by Josh Hicks and C.J. vaughn, along with 4 steals by E.J. Watkins gave the Wolves a 13 point lead at the half. In the second half, Kalman Stokes and Jermaine Campbell continued their strong play in the post, and Kwonnie Bates and Ricky Elders gave the team a spark whcih led to a 63-32 victory. Leading scorers were Kalman Stokes with 15, C.J. Vaughn with 14, and Jermaine Campbell with 10. The Wolves are now 13-2.
Saturday, January 16
In the Naperville North Shootout, the Oswego East Wolves faced a physical East Peoria team. The Wolves came out strong with a 16-2 run led by C.J. Vaughn and Kalman Stokes. The Wolves took a 41-18 lead at the end of the first half. In the second half, E.J. Watkins, Kwonnie Bates, and Josh Hicks paced the Wolves offense and helped give Oswego East the 79-30 win. C.J. Vaughn had 20, Josh Hicks had 12, and Kwonnie Bates and Jimmy Bitner each added 8.
Thursday, January 14
On Thursday night the Oswego East Wolves had a conference match-up against Plainfield East. With both teams shooting the ball well, the Wolves got a double digit lead at half-time behind scoring from E.J. Watkins, Dakota Bruns, and C.J. Vaughn. In the second half,
strong play by Jermaine Campbell and Damarez McWright held off Plainfield East to give the Wolves the 69-58 victory. Four players were in double figures; Jermaine Campbell with 16, Dakota Bruns with 14, C.J. Vaughn with 11, and Kalman Stokes with 10. The sophomore Wolves are currently 11-2.
Saturday, January 9
On Saturday the Wolves took on the Metea Valley Mustangs. In a back and forth battle, the Oswego East Wolves prevailed winning 49-45. Josh Hicks had 11, Troy Ross had 8, Ricky Elders had 8, and Jimmy Bitner added 6.
Friday, January 8
On Friday the Oswego East Wolves battled Minooka. The Wolves took an early lead with strong play from Will Harris, Thomas Wilder, and Kalman Stokes. The Wolves took a 32-24 lead at the half. In the second half, C.J. Vaughn and Jermaine Campbell led the charge, and the Wolves won 68-49. Leading the Wolves in scoring were C.J. Vaughn with 20, Jermaine Campbell with 17, and Kalman Stokes with 14.
Wednesday, December 30
In the championship game, the Wolves battled a tough Glenbard East team. The game went back and forth with both teams playing strong defense. Thomas Wilder tied the game at 44, but the Wolves fell short losing 46-44 in the Championship.
Tuesday, December 29
In the second game of the Glenbard East Holiday Tournament, the Wolves took on Fenton. Although the Wolves trailed by 2 early in the 1st half, C.J. Vaughn sparked a 10-0 run to give the Wolves an 11 point lead going to the half. In the second half, Jermaine Campbell and Josh Hicks helped push the lead to give the Wolves a 73-48 victory. Leading the team in scroing was C.J. Vaughn with 22, Jermaine Campbell with 12, and Josh Hicks with 8.
Monday, December 28
In the first game of the Glenbard East Holiday Tournament, Oswego East faced a tough Addison Trail team. Oswego East jumped out
to an early 12 point lead behind strong play from Damarez McWright and Will Harris. In the second half Josh Hicks caught the hot hand, and the Wolves won 77-41. Leading the Wolves in scoring was Will Harris with 12, C.J. Vaughn with 12, Kalmon Stokes with 12, Josh Hicks with 12, and Damarez McWright with 8.
Friday, December 18
In a conference battle against Romeoville the Wolves started slow, before Kalman Stokes and Jermaine Campbell controled the paint to give the Wolves a 30-11 lead at half. In the second half, C.J. Vaughn, Damarez McWright, and Josh Hicks caught the hot hand, and the Wolves won 62-21. Leading the team in scoring was Kalman Stokes with 21, Jermaine Campbell with 11, and Will Harris with 9.
Friday, December 11
On Friday the Wolves battled the Plainfield South Cougars. The Wolves jumped out to an early 10 point lead led by Kalman Stokes and E.J. Watkins. The Wolves stretched the lead in the 2nd and 3rd quarters to 25 points behind the strong play of C.J. Vaughn, Troy Ross, and Jimmy Bitner. The Wolves won 81-41 and pushed their record to 6-1. All 15 players scored; two were in double figures.
Tuesday, December 8
In the second conference game of the year, the Oswego East Wolves traveled to take on the Plainfield Central Wildcats. The Wolves got off to a slow start trailing by 12 in the first half. Strong play by Sterling Saldano and Jermaine Campbell plus hot shooting by C.J. Vaughn and Thomas Wilder kept the Wolves within 3 at the half. In the second half, Kalman Stokes began to dominate helping the Wolves tie the score. In the closing seconds of the game, Thomas Wilder shot a floater to seal the victory giving the Wolves the 47-45 victory. Leading scores were Kalman Stokes with 20, Thomas Wilder with 10, and C.J. Vaughn with 8.
Tuesday, December 1
In the first conference game of the season, the Oswego East Wolves suffered their first loss of the year to Oswego 47-42. Leading the Wolves in scoring were C.J. Vaughn with 15 and Jermaine Campbell with 10.
Friday, November 27
In the championship game at the Hoops for Healing Tournament, the Wolves took on the Geneva Vikings. The Wolves got down early but battled back behind three pointers from Thomas Wilder and C.J. Vaughn. In the second half, Jermaine Campbell and Dakota Bruns dominated the paint to give the Wolves the lead going into the 4th quarter. Clutch free throw shooting by Dakota Bruns and Thomas Wilder gave the Wolves the 52-49 victory and a 1st place finish. Thomas Wilder had 21, C.J. Vaughn and Jermaine Campbell had 9 each.
Wednesday, Novermber 25
In the third game at the Hoops for Healing Tournament, the Wolves faced the Naperville North Huskies. Although the Wolves were down 7 early, Oswego East battled back behind strong play from Thomas Wilder and Damarez McWright. In the second half, Kalman Stokes and Dakota Bruns led the charge giving the Wolves the 48-35 victory. Kalman Stokes led the way with 14 points and 13 rebounds. Jermaine Campbell had 8 points, Thomas Wilder had 7 and Damarez McWright added in 4 points with 4 assist.
Tuesday, November 24
In the second game of the Hoops For Healing Tournament, the Oswego East sophomores took on Marmion. The Wolves got off to a double digit lead in the first half behind hot shooting from C.J. Vaughn and E.J. Watkins. In the second half, the Wolves continued their strong play with Kalman Stokes and Jermaine Campbell leading the way. The Wolves won 55-44, and leading the way were C.J. Vaughn with 17, Kalman Stokes with 16, and Jermaine Campbell and E.J. Watkins each with 8 points.
Monday, November 23
In the first game of the Hoops for Healing Tournament, the Wolves took on Dekalb. Oswego East got of to a 16 point lead in the first half led by Thomas Wilder, Dakota Bruns, and Will Harris. In the second half the Wolves strecthed the lead behind the strong play of Jermaine Campbell, Will Harris, and Serling Saldano. The Wolves picked up their first victory of the season 66-33. Jermain Campbell had 14 points, Dakota Bruns and Will Harris had 11, and Thomas Wilder added 9.
