Sophomore Results

Thursday, May 21

The Sophomore Baseball Team beat Romeoville 13-3.  Adam Kaczmaric was 4-5 with 3 rbi's.  Anthony Linkenheld was 2-3 with 2 doubles and 2 runs scored.  Matt Emanuel was 2-4 with 2 rbi's.  The Sophomore Wolves finished the season 21-16.  The Wolves were 15-2 over the  last 17 games of the season.

Wednesday, May 20

The Sophomore Baseball Team defeated Romeoville 14-4.  Cody Burton got the victory for the Wolves.  Bobby Smith hit for the cycle in the game, his home run in the 5th inning was a 3-run shot.  Elijah Blackmon was 2-3 with 2 runs scored.  Jon Aceret was 2-4 with 2 runs scored.  The Sophomore Wolves are now 20-16 on the season.

Tuesday, May 19

The Sophomore Baseball Team defeated Romeoville 15-5 in 5 innings.  Paxon Jungles recorded the victory for the Wolves, striking out 6 batters on the day.  Bobby Smith was 3-3 with a 2-run home run.  Matt Schultz was 2-2 with a double and a home run.  At the plate Jungles was 2-2 with 3 runs scored.  Jake Aceret was 2-2 with a triple.  Anthony Linkenheld was 2-3 with 4 rbi's.

Monday, May 18

The Sophomore Baseball Team lost to the Oswego Panthers 5-4.  The Wolves scored 3 runs in the top of the 7th inning to tie the game, but Oswego scored 1 run in the bottom of the 7th to get the victory.  Bobby Smith was 2-3 with 3 rbi's and a run scored.  Jon Aceret was 2-4 on the day.

Thursday, May 14

The Sophomore Baseball Team defeated Oswego 10-0 in 5 innings.  Paxon Jungles threw the shutout for the Wolves.  Bobby Smith was 1-2 with a 2 RBI triple.  Cody Burton was 2-2 with a solo home run.  Matt Schultz added a grand slam in the bottom of the 4th for the Wolves.

Tuesday, May 12

The Oswego East Sophomore Baseball Team defeated the Oswego Panthers 7-0.  Matt Schultz pitched the seven inning shutout for the win while striking out 11 Panther batters.  The Wolves scored 1 run in bottom of the first inning and never looked back.  Cody Sumner was 2-3 with 2 runs scored. Cody Burton and Jon Aceret each scored 2 runs for the Wolves.

Saturday, May 9

The Sophomore Baseball Team won both games of the double header against Kaneland.  Jon Aceret pitched 5 solid innings to get the win
for the Wolves.  Cody Burton pitched the final 2 innings for the save.  Burton also had 2 rbi's in the game.

In game 2 the Wolves won 13-2.  Anthony Linkenheld was 3-3 with 3 runs scored.  Matt Emanuel was 2-3 with a double and a triple.  Matt Schultz ended the game with a 3-run home run.

Friday, May 8

The Sophomore Baseball Team defeated Plainfield South 11-7.  Paxon Jungles got the win for the Wolves on the mound.  Bobby Smith was 2-3 with a 2-run home run.  The Wolves scored 6 runs in the top of the 3rd inning and did not look back.

Wednesday, May 6

The Sophomore Baseball Team defeated Plainfield South 5-1 in 5 innings.  Jon Aceret picked up the win for the Wolves.  Matt Schultz had a 2-run home run and Elijah Blackmon added 2 rbi's for the Wolves.

Tuesday, May 5

The Sophomore Baseball Team defeated Plainfield South 6-3 in 8-innings.  Matt Schultz pitched a complete game and struck out 21 Plainfield South batters for the win.  Schultz led off the top off the eighth with a triple to get the bats going before scoring 3 runs.  Eric Egan was 3-4.  Jon Aceret had a homerun to get the Wolves their first run of the game.

Monday, May 4

The Oswego East Sophomore Baseball Team defeated Plainfield East 11-1.  Anthony Johnson got the win for the Wolves while striking out 5 batters.  The Wolves scored 9 runs in the top of the 5th inning.  Elijah Blackmon was 1-3 with 2 rbi's and 2 runs scored. Danny Klingbeil was 1-2 with a double and 2 rbi's.

Saturday, May 2

The Oswego East Wolves split a double-header against Glenbard South.  The Wolves lost the first game 11-1.  The Wolves came back to win the second game 9-4.  Jon Aceret and Matt Schultz combined to hold Glenbard South to 4 runs in 7 innings.  Aceret was 3-3 with 2 runs scored.  Anthony Linkenheld was 2-3 with 2 runs scored and 2 stolen bases.

Friday, May 1

The Oswego East Sophomore Baseball team defeated Morris 15-4 in 5 innings.  Elijah Blackmon was 3-4 with 3 runs scored.  Bobby Smith was 4-4 with 6 RBI's.  Matt Schultz was 2-4 with 4 RBI's and a homerun.  Adam Kaczmarek was 2-3 with a double and 2 runs scored. 

Wednesday, April 29

The Oswego East Sophomore Baseball team defeated Morris 4-2.  Matt  Schultz got the win for the Wolves allowing 2 runs in 7 innings while striking out 10 batters.  Bobby Smith was 2-3 with a home run and 2 runs scored.

Tuesday, April 28

The Oswego East Sophomore Baseball Team defeated Morris 4-3 in 8-innings.  Jon Aceret pitched the entire game for the Wolves striking out 6 on the day.  At the plate Aceret started the game off with a double and later scored to give the Wolves a lead.  The Wolves added another run in 2nd inning.  Morris fought back to send the game into extra innings, and Morris took a 3-2 lead going into the bottom of the 8th.  James Ugone came through with a bases loaded 2-out single to win the game for the Wolves in the bottom of the 8th.  Erik Egan was 2-4 and Elijah Blackmon was 1-3 with a run scored.

Thursday, April 23

The Oswego East Sophomore Baseball Team lost to Plainfield Central 5-3.  Bobby Smith was 2-2 on the day. Matt Schultz was 2-4 with a homerun and 2 runs scored.

Wednesday, April 22

The Oswego East Sophomore Baseball Team lost to Plainfield Central 4-2.  Matt Schultz pitched 6 solid innings allowing 2 runs while striking out 5 batters.  The Wolves bats were held in check until the bottom of the 7th.  The Wolves scored 2 runs in the bottom of the 7th.

Saturday, April 18

Game 1:  The Wolves won the first game of Saturday's doubleheader against Bolingbrook 13-7.  Paxon Jungles pitched 4 solid innings for the Wolves.  Jon Aceret added a home run in the 3rd inning.  Adam Kazmaric was 3-4 with 2 runs scored.  Elijah Blackmon was 2-4 with 2 RBI's.  Matt Schultz was 2-4 with 2 RBI's.

Game 2:  The Wolves won game 2 against Bolingbrook 18-8 in 7 innings. Elijah Blackmon was 2-4 with 3 runs scored and 3 RBI's.  Eric Egan was 3-4 with 2 runs scored and 2 RBI's.  Anthony Linkenheld was 2-5 with 2 RBI's.  Bolingbrook got within 4 runs in the 4th inning.  Matt Schultz came in to pitch with the bases loaded to get the Wolves out of the inning.  Schultz struck out 5 batters in 2 innings pitched.  The Wolves bats erupted for 10 runs in the second inning and added 6 runs in the 7th inning.  The Wolves are now 5-9 on the season.

Wednesday, April 15

The Oswego East Sophomore Baseball team lost to Minooka 9-4.  Matt Schultz allowed 3 runs in 4 1/3 innings while striking out 5 batters. Jon Aceret was 1 for 2 with 2 walks, 2 stolen bases and a run scored.  Bobby Smith was 2 for 4 with an RBI. Elijah Blackmon and Cody Burton each an RBI for the Wolves.

Tuesday, April 14

The Oswego East Sophomore Baseball team defeated Minooka 4-3.  Jon Aceret pitched the complete game while stiking out 6 Minooka batters to get the win for the Wolves.  The Wolves scored 2 runs in the bottom of the sixth to take the lead 4-3.  James Ugone knocked in 2 runs with a bases loaded 2-out hit.  Aceret was 2-2 with a run scored on the day.  Matt Schultz started the Wolves sixth inning rally with a 2 out hit followed by a  walk to Elijah Blackmon and a hit by pitch to Aceret. Schultz and Blackmon scored the tying and go ahead runs.

Thursday, April 2

The Oswego East Sophomore Baseball team lost to Yorkville 4-1.  Jon Aceret scored the Wolves only run in the top of the first inning.  Aceret also pitched 6 solids innings, allowing one earned run, while striking out 7 batters.

Spring Break Week

The Oswego East Sophomore Baseball Team finished their week of the season 2-3.  The Wolves got off to a good start on Tuesday with a win over York 6-2.  Jon Aceret got the win for the Wolves, and Eric Egan contributed 2 solid innings.  On Wednesday the Wolves lost a hard fougth game against West Aurora 6-5.  Bobby Smith and Adam Kaczmarek were each 2-3.  On Thursday the Wolves lost both games of a double header against Elgin Larkin.  Game one was 10-6 and Game two was 7-3. The Wolves were winning game one until the 6th inning before giving up 3 runs, Larkin added another 3 runs in the 7th for the win.  On Friday, the Wolves beat East Aurora 9-6.  Luc Boby pitched 3 solid innings and Adam Kaczmarek pitched the final 4 innings for the victory.  The Wolves bats were held in check until the 6th inning before scoring 5 runs in the top of the 6th inning.  Elijah Blackmon led the way for the Wolves going 2-4 with a triple.  Bobby Smith scored 3 Wolves runs.

Thursday, May 21

OEHS 10         Romeoville 0                                        Record 24-8-1 Conference 13-4
In a fitting end to a successful season, Adam Kishanov threw a no-hitter against Romeoville.  Kishanov struck out 12 and faced the minimum amount of batters as the only Spartan to reach base (on a 2 out walk in the 2nd) was caught stealing by catcher Mark McCallum.  Offensively, Kishanov had plenty of support as 10 different Wolves crossed the plate.  The Freshmen Team finished the year with a record setting 24 wins (24-8-1)! 

Wednesday, May 20

OEHS 15         Romeoville 2                                        Record 23-8-1 Conference 12-4
East pitching continues to shut down opponents as Zach DiZillo struck out 13 while walking none in the Wolves’ 23rd victory.  Twelve different Wolves scored runs to support DiZillo.  Andy Jaskolski, Adam Kishanov and Jake Aceret all had multiple hits to pace the offensive effort. 

Tuesday, May 19

OEHS 13         Romeoville 0                                        Record 22-8-1 Conference 11-4
Jake Litkenhus was lights out, striking out 9 in 5 innings of work to improve to 5-0 on the season.  Offensively, 8 different Wolves had hits in the lopsided victory.  Litkenhus provided the initial blow, driving in 3 with a 2 out double in the first, while Jeremiah Rodriguez came in to finish off the Spartans, driving in two on a blast to left in the 4th. 

Monday, May 18

OEHS 11         Oswego 4                                            Record 21-8-1 Conference 10-4
The Wolves completed a 3-game sweep of the Panthers and improved to 21-8 (10-4) on the season.  Matt Miller earned his 3rd victory of the season and struck out 10 in the complete game effort.  Offensively, Tyler Glende came off the bench and knocked in 2 runs with 2 outs in the sixth to provide the Wolves with some breathing room.  The Wolves went on to plate 4 in the seventh with Colin Griffin providing a damaging blow as he collected his 3rd hit on the day.  

Thursday, May 14

OEHS 6           Oswego 0                                            Record 20-8-1 Conference 9-4
Despite wind gusts howling out to left, Zach DiZillo tossed a 3-hit, complete game, shut-out to pick up his 5th win of the year.  Leading the offensive support for DiZillo, Andy Jaskolski drove in 3 runs, two coming on a homerun to left center.  Matt Miller and Zach Delli contributed to the effort, scoring 2 runs each.  The win improves East’s record to 20-8-1, the first 20 win baseball team in the school’s short history.

Tuesday, May 12

OEHS 10         Oswego 2                                            Record 19-8-1 Conference 8-4
In game one with cross-town rival, Oswego, the Wolves struck early and often, taking advantage of Panther miscues.  The Wolves’ balanced attack was paced by Jake Aceret (3-3, 2R), Brandon Sullivan (2-3), and Colin Griffin (2-3) as 9 Wolves had hits and scored in the winning effort.  The offensive barrage was more than enough support for freshmen hurler, Adam Kishanov, as he struck out 10 in the complete game victory.

Saturday, May 9

OEHS 3           Kaneland 13                                         Record 18-8    Conference 7-4
The Wolves took a 1-0 lead into the bottom of the fourth but were unable to contain Kaneland’s bats, as the Knights had 13 hits in the last 3 innings.  Jake Aceret was the lone Wolf with 2 hits, as Kaneland pitching scattered 6 Wolf hits.
 
OEHS 5           Kaneland 5                                           Record 18-8-1 Conference 7-4
In a back and forth battle, time constraints led to the game being called a tie after the score was still knotted after 8 innings of play.  Jake Aceret earned a no decision despite allowing only 5 hits over 5 innings.  The Wolves were lead by Chris Horbacz, Mark McCallum, and Austin Norrel who each had two hits in the stalemate. 

Friday, May 8

OEHS 12         Plainfield South 8                                  Record 17-7    Conference 6-4
Matt Miller picked up his 2nd win on the year, tossing four plus innings of solid relief in a continuation of Thursday’s shortened contest.  The Wolves scored 5 runs in the 6th inning with a bases loaded double by Miller providing the knockout punch. The offensive attack was balanced as 7 different Wolves crossed home plate in the contest.
 
OEHS 10         Plainfield South 7                                  Record 18-7    Conference 7-4
Jake Litkenhus picked up his 4th win of the season as he struck out 7 batters in 5 innings of work.  Lead-off hitter, Andy Jaskolski scored 2 runs on 3 hits and Matt Miller continues to have a hot bat, going 3-3 and scoring a pair of runs.  Mark McCallum also contributed 3 key hits for the Wolves as they improved to 7-4 in conference play.

Tuesday, May 5

OEHS 14         Plainfield South 11                                Record 16-7    Conference 5-4
In a heavyweight offensive fight, the Wolves took the early rounds, plating all 14 runs by the 5th inning.  The Wolves’ attack was lead by Zack DiZillo who had a huge day at the plate (4-4, 4 R, 5 RBI).  Joining DiZillo with multiple hit efforts were Andy Jaskolski, Adam Kishanov (2 2B, 3 RBI), Jake Aceret, and Jake Litkenhus.  Adam Kishanov picked up the win as the Wolves improved to 16-7.

Monday, May 4 

OEHS 2           Plainfield East 3                                    Record 15-7    Conference 4-4
Matt Miller was the tough luck loser as he struck out 4 in 6 innings of work.  Both teams scored two runs in the first and the Bengals were able to strike for one more in the third which proved to be the winning run.  Offensively, Zack DiZillo lead the Wolves with 2 of the team’s six hits.

Saturday, May 2

OEHS 15         Glenbard South 3                                 Record 15-6    Conference 4-4
Jake Litkenhus tossed 3 shutout innings while striking out 6 to pick up the win over South.  Offensively, the Wolves big inning came in the third as they plated 10 runs on 6 hits.  Colin Griffin, Mark McCallum, and Tyler Glende all had multiple hit efforts in the lopsided victory.

OEHS 11         Glenbard South 6                                 Record 14-6    Conference 4-4
The Wolves’ bats remain hot as the boys combined for 12 hits in their 6th win in row.  Jake Litkenhus lead the attack, going 3-3, while Zack DiZillo, Adam Kishanov, and Brandan Sullivan each had 2 hits.  Zack DiZillo improved to 4-1 in the complete game effort.

Tuesday, April 28

OEHS 3           Morris 2                                               Record 13-6    Conference 4-4
The Wolves threatened every inning as they evenly scattered 12 hits.  Despite the offensive barrage, the Wolves managed just 3 runs, plating the winning run on Jake Aceret’s walk off double.  Matt Miller was 2-2 with a homerun as he was one of 5 Wolves with 2 hits.  Adam Kishanov struck out 8 while walking only 1 in the victory.

Monday, April 27

OEHS 10         Joliet Township Central 1                      Record 12-6    Conference 3-4
Matt Miller shut down Central’s bats while the Wolves struck with 6 extra base hits.  Jake Aceret and Andy Jaskolski had 2 hits a piece.

Saturday, April 25

OEHS 3           Geneva 2                                              Record 10-6    Conference 3-4
Jake Litkenhus shut down the opposition in a brilliant pitching performance, allowing just 4 hits while striking out 7.  However, heading into the fifth, the Wolves were equally stymied at the plate as Geneva’s hurler was tossing a no-hitter.  With 2 outs though, Will Harris belted a home-run off the left field foul pole to break up the no hit shutout and back to back two out singles by Litkenhus and Mark McCallum brought in the tying run.  The Wolves were able to scrape across the winning run in the top of the 7th as Zack DiZillo singled, stole 2 bases, and scored on a wild pitch.  
 
OEHS 9           Geneva 0                                              Record 11-6     Conference 3-4
In their 5th game in 3 days, the Wolves' offense started to heat up as they combined for 12 hits.  Jeremiah Rodriguez took one deep to lead the Wolves while Andy Jaskolski and Zack DiZillo each had multiple hit efforts.  Defensively, Zach Delli silenced the Geneva bats, tossing a complete game shutout without allowing a single walk. 

Friday, April 24

OEHS 2           Plainfield Central 7                                Record 8-6      Conference 2-4
Andy Jaskolksi belted two doubles to lead the stagnant Wolves offense as Central’s pitching proved dominant in game 1 of the twin billing.

OEHS 7           Plainfield Central 5                                Record 9-6      Conference 3-4
After an hour long lightning delay, the Wolves were trailing Central 5-3 before they plated 4 runs in the bottom of the 4th.  As the umpires threatened to call the game on account of darkness, Zack DiZillo and the Wolves defense were able to hold Central at bay in the top of the fifth to preserve the victory.  Andy Jaskolski went 3-3 and Jake Aceret went 2-2 with a homerun to lead the Wolves’ offensive attack.

Thursday, April 23

OEHS 2           Plainfield Central 7             Record 8-5      Conference 2-3
Matt Miller scattered 7 hits over six innings and allowed only 1 earned run in a tough conference loss.  Chris Horbacz and Jake Litkenhus both doubled for the Wolves while Andy Jaskolski continued his tear with two of the Wolves' 5 hits.

The Wolves spotted Bolingbrook a 6-3 lead after 3 innings but tallied four runs in the fourth for the come from behind win.  Andy Jaskolski continues to be hot at the plate, going 4 for 5 while Zack DiZillo, Mike Cherven, and Colin Griffin each had 2 hits.  Defensively, Chris Horbacz and Jeremiah Rodriguez each had potentially game saving assists from the outfield.  Jake Litkenhus tossed three solid innings in relief to earn the save. 
 
OEHS 14 (split squad) Bolingbrook 1  Record 7-4      Conference 2-2
The Wolves came out swinging in game 2, scoring 7 runs on 7 hits in the second inning.  The well balanced attack was lead by Brandon Sullivan who had three hits and a pair of RBI’s.  Zach DiZillo, Austin Norell, and Will Harris combined to allow 1 hit over 5 innings in the win.
 
OEHS 7 (split squad)               Bolingbrook 0  Record 8-4      Conference 2-2
After a key outfield assist in the opening game, Jeremiah Rodriguez combined with Tyler Glende and Noel Nieves to toss a 5 inning shutout.  A well balanced offensive attack was able to keep pressure on Bolingbrook throughout the game as the freshmen Wolves tallied their third win of the day.

Thursday, April 16

OEHS 8           Minooka 2                      Record 5-4      Conference 2-2

The Wolves struck first, scoring three runs in the first on a few free passes.  It turned out that was all they would need.  Adam Kishanov struck out 7 in 6 innings of work to pick up the win and Matt Miller came on to finish the Indians in the 7th.  Offensively, the Wolves were paced by Andy Jaskolski and Jake Aceret who had two hits a piece.

Saturday, April 11

OEHS 4           Plainfield North 1                      Record: 4-4      Conference: 1-2

On a day when the wolves could only muster 2 hits, they needed a solid pitching performance.  Zach Di Zillo delivered.  Di Zillo picked up the win in the complete game effort, allowing only 1 run on 3 hits.  Offensively, Andy Jaskolski had the wolves lone hits, while Joey Marchert, Will Harris, and Matt Miller all scored runs after receiving a free pass. 

Thursday, April 9

OEHS 2           Plainfield North 3                      Record: 3-4      Conference: 0-2

Adam Kishanov scattered 7 hits in another solid pitching performance as the wolves’ 7th inning comeback fell short.  After the tigers took a 3-1 lead in the bottom of the sixth, the wolves battled back in the top half of the 7th.  Will Harris scored on Mike Cherven’s hit up the middle and the wolves had 2 runners before North was able to shut down the wolves’ rally.  Zach Delli and Jake Aceret lead the wolves’ offense, each reaching base 3 times.3-24-09

Wednesday, April 8

OEHS 3           Plainfield North 9                      Record: 3-3      Conference: 0-1

The tigers took advantage of 5 errors to hand the wolves their first conference loss of the year.  Jake Aceret lead the wolves offense with 2 extra base hits while Will Harris made the highlight real with a towering home run in the fifth. 

Thursday, April 2

OEHS 1           Yorkville 2       9 innings           Record: 3-2

In their second straight extra inning contest, the wolves fell in a pitchers duel.  Adam Kishanov tossed a 1 hitter through 7 innings, surrendering just 1 run on a two out triple.  Offensively, the wolves struck 1st with three hits in the first to score their lone run of the game.  Yorkville pitchers held the wolves in check the rest of the way, scattering just 3 hits over the final 8 innings.3-25-09

Thursday, March 26

OEHS 11         Larkin 8                                   Record: 2-1

After a slow start, East’s bats came alive in the late innings as the wolves scored 11 runs in the final three frames for a comeback victory.  Andy Jaskolski and Zach Delli led the charge with 2 hits and 2 runs a piece.  Colin Griffin picked up the win on the mound, striking out four batters in relief.  Adam Kishanov also threw well for the wolves, picking up his first save of the season.

OEHS 8           Larkin 7           8 innings           Record: 3-1

In a wild finish, the wolves plated two runs in the bottom of the eighth to sweep the twin bill over Larkin.  After Zach Delli singled home Andy Jaskolski, who tripled to start the eighth, Matt Miller ripped the first pitch he saw to drive in the winning run.  Jake Aceret and Adam Kishanov had a multiple hit game and Joey Marchert, Tyler Glende, and Will Harris all had their first hit of the season.

Wednesday, March 25

OEHS 5           West Aurora 11                       Record: 1-1

The wolves jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first with 4 consecutive hits by Jake Aceret, Andy Jaskolski, Matt Miller and Adam Kishanov.  While the wolves were paced offensively by Aceret, Jaskolski, Litkenhus, and Zach Delli, who all had multiple hits, they could not hold the lead as they committed 7 errors and gave up 10 walks. 

Tuesday, March 24

OEHS 3           York 2                                     Record: 1-0

The freshmen wolves opened the year with a win over York.  Matt Miller and Adam Kishanov battled through cold and rainy playing conditions and held their opponents to just 3 hits.  Offensively, Mike Cherven was the catalyst, leading the wolves with 2 doubles and the game winning RBIs in the seventh.  Jake Litkenhus and Zack Di Zillo also had hits for the wolves.
