PLAN-
The PLAN test is administered to our Sophomore
students in the fall. The PLAN test is considered a
"pre-ACT" test, which can be a powerful predictor of
success on the ACT Assessment. The PLAN has a Career
Interest Inventory called UNIACT. This component
helps students explore personally relevant career
options.

ACT- The ACT is America's most widely
accepted college entrance exam. It assesses high
school students' general educational development and
their ability to complete college-level work. This
multiple choice test covers four skill areas:
English, Math, Reading, and Science. The Writing
portion is optional and measures skill in planning
and writing a short essay.
- the ACT is given by OEHS on April 23rd as
part of the PSAE, if you wish to take it sooner
stop by the Career Center/Student Services or
register online at
www.actstudent.org

PSAE- stands for the Prairie State
Achievement Exam. This test is administered to our
Junior class on April 23rd and 24th, 2008. The
Prairie State Achievement Exam measures student’s
achievement relative to Illinois Learning Standards.
The PSAE also comprises the ACT assessment in
English, reading, mathematics, and science as well
as the WorkKeys test in Reading for Information and
Applied Math. Students are encouraged to practice
for the WorkKeys portion of the test using the
KeyTrain program.

mathematics, and writing. The PSAT is also used by
the National Merit Scholarship Corporation as an
initial screen for entrants in its annual academic
competitions for recognition and college
scholarships.

Consumer Education Proficiency-
This is an optional exam given to students who wish
to test out of the Consumer Education class offered
senior year. The exams covers money management,
consumer credit, checking and savings, insurance,
taxes and other financial concerns associated with
everyday life. The exam is offered two times a year,
you may only take the exam once a year; refer to the
testing calendar for specific dates and times. Sign

Advanced Placement Exams- The AP
Examinations are administered each year in May and
represent the culmination of college-level work in a
given discipline in a secondary school setting.
Rigorously developed by committees of college and AP
high school faculty, the 35 AP Exams in 20 subject
areas test students' ability to perform at a college
level. Classes for which a AP exam is offered…
Calculus 1, AB and BC, AP European History, AP
Chemistry, AP Biology, AP Literature and Comp, AP US
history, AP Government and Politics, AP Music
