Seniors - [Timeline]

Many state universities have an early application deadline of Nov 15th, 2008. Make sure you are requesting your transcripts from student services at least a week in advance.

All seniors have a Senior Credit Check during the first term. The Senior check includes a review of graduation requirements, a discussion of future plans, and a senior timeline.

Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
You must submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) if you want to apply for federal and state financial aid. Many colleges and universities, especially public institutions, also require the FAFSA. You must submit the FAFSA every year that you want aid starting January 1st.

Obtaining a FAFSA
The FAFSA is available in several formats, including online, PDF and paper versions.
The best option is to complete the web-based version of the FAFSA at www.fafsa.ed.gov. It includes step-by-step instructions for completing the online FAFSA as well as pre-application worksheets. You can obtain a PIN, or Personal Identification Number, to electronically sign the form by visiting www.pin.ed.gov. If you have technical questions about using FAFSA on the Web, call 1-800-4-FED-AID.

Transcripts

Current Students
For us to release your transcript, you must complete a student request form. You can download this form from this website or you may pick up a form from Student Services. There is no charge for this service if you are currently attending OEHS. To complete the form, you will need your student id number and the address of where you would like the transcript sent. When attaching an application (scholarship or college), please be sure your portion of the application is complete before requesting your transcript. The applications are completed by the Career Center Manager before your Counselor receives them.

Former Students
If you are a past graduate of OEHS, you must also complete a transcript request form/(past students). There is a $5 fee for this service. Please be prepared to supply the name and address of the place you would like your transcript mailed. We must send the transcript directly to the college, employer, etc. for it to be considered official. If you want to pick up your transcript, please note that it will be an unofficial copy. Transcript request forms can be found in the security office, Door #1 at OEHS or on this website. If you do not live in the area, please fax the request to 630.554.5830 or mail your request. If you fax a request, please mail the $5 fee to Oswego East High School Student Service Department, 1525 Harvey Road, Oswego, IL 60543. Your request will be processed after payment is received.

Volunteering

Volunteering is rewarding and is beneficial to include on resumes and scholarship applications. Pick up a verification form in the Student Services office or print one on-line. Have the site supervisor sign the sheet and return it to Student Services. We will track your hours as you work toward the Service Learning Award which requires 150 hours.
