Clubs and Activities

Lakewood Creek Elementary School provides a variety of special programming that provides unique character to our school. The information below will provide details about the many different opportunities that we offer for students.

After School Sports
This program is designed for fourth and fifth grade students who would like to get involved in team sports, develop their skills, learn basic offensive and defensive strategy, in a competitive, but fun environment. These programs change each quarter.

Yearbook Club
This activity allows club members to take, gather, and compile photographs throughout the school year into a yearbook. The Yearbook Club members learn about design, layout and organization of a yearbook. The final product is sold and delivered at the end of the school year.

Character Counts Club
Club members help to promote the qualities and characteristics represented by the pillars of the Character Counts program.

Honor Choir
This activity is open to fourth and fifth grade students that like to sing. Students will learn the basics of singing in a choir through the use of warm-ups and a diverse repertoire.  They will perform at times throughout the year.  Will meet Wednesdays after school from December to May.

Safety Patrol
Students in fifth grade have the opportunity to participate in Safety Patrol. Students are assigned a responsibility to assist staff members during morning arrival and afternoon dismissal. The students are instrumental in maintaining a safe environment throughout our building.  Students work everyday and meet once or twice a month during lunch/recess.

Recycling Club
The Recycling Club works to promote awareness of conservation. Through the collection of discarded paper, can drives, pencil sales, and Earth Day events the Recycling Club raises money to help beautify our school in Earth friendly ways.  Students meet most Thursdays after school.

Drum Squad
This club was developed to extend musical learning and multicultural awareness by participating in World Music Drumming.  Students will perform at times throughout the school year.  Will meet Wednesdays after school.

Art Club
Students in grades first through fifth will meet to gain additional art experience and for fun.  Will meet weekly after school.

Tech Club
The purpose of Tech Club is to help support technology use and integration in school.  Fourth and fifth grade students will participate in projects that include videotaping, picture-taking and using the various software programs that are used at Lakewood Creek.  Will meet most Tuesdays after school.
