About the Administration
David Brusak
Principal

My name is David Brusak and I would like to welcome you to Lakewood Creek Elementary School! I assumed the Principalship this past summer and look forward to bringing my experience and knowledge garnered over the past 8 years while serving as principal of Goodwin Elementary School in District 129 to Lakewood Creek. I am equally very eager to learn and collaborate with both the staff and community members to make our first year together a successful one.
Prior to my principalships, I served as a dean for 2 years at Washington Middle School in District 129 and was responsible for student discipline, special education, scheduling, etc. Previous to all administrative responsibilities, I was a social science teacher for 9 years at Lincoln Middle School in North Berwyn, District 98. I received my undergraduate degree in teaching from Northeastern Illinois University and an Educational Leadership graduate degree from Aurora University.
On a personal note, I have resided in Yorkville for the past 5 years with my family – my wife Gina, my daughters Alyssa (11) and Madison (9), my son Logan (4), and our German Shepard, Gunner. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends camping, snowboarding/skiing, traveling, wakeboarding, and attending my children’s’ sporting events, coaching soccer, etc. I take pleasure in every aspect of music and am an avid runner who enjoys running races ranging from 5K’s to marathons.
Lakewood Creek will focus on the District and school’s mission, beliefs and objectives to guide our School Improvement Plan, incorporate best practices in the classrooms, and promote good character that will ultimately foster positive student achievement. Professional development revolving around best practices in reading, creating opportunities for staff to collaborate and discuss student achievement, interventions, data, etc., and furthering our efforts on creating an even stronger Character Counts program building wide are a few means that will lead us to our goals.
We at Lakewood Creek truly look forward to the many opportunities that lie ahead and look forward to working closely with families and the community to make this upcoming school year a wonderful one!

I am extremely pleased to have the opportunity to introduce myself to you. My name is Aaron Fedanzo-Dudley and I am the Assistant Principal here at Lakewood Creek. I am very excited to be here and look forward helping our students become the best they can be. I truly believe that all of the people who touch our students’ lives need be involved in a positive way. When I started teaching I heard a co-worker state “Education is like triangle. The parents, students, teachers/staff make up the three sides of the triangle. Without one the triangle will collapse.” This saying has always stuck with me and I truly believe that all three components are vital to our success. Parents, students, and staff need to believe in the educational process and choose to have a positive and cooperative attitude everyday.
I graduated from Eastern Illinois University in 2002. I completed my student teaching in a 5th grade REI classroom. A REI class is a regular education classroom with a cluster of special education students who are being mainstreamed. I was then picked up by the district to teach a 6th and 7th grade special education position at the middle school. During this time I also tutored at risk 4th grade students. I then joined the Valley View School District at Wood View Elementary where I taught 3rd grade. Wood View was a great place where I had a chance to work with wonderful people. While at Wood View I was able to work with a wide range of regular and special education students. I also had the opportunity to work on the reading incentives committee and lead the schools technology committee. In addition to my regular teaching responsibilities I also had the opportunity to teach at risk 1st grade students during the summer school programs for the 04 and 05 summers. While working for Valley View I was provided with top of the line training in classroom management, techniques for communicating with parents, integrating technology into the curriculum, and best instructional practices. In addition, I was also trained in PBIS, Baldrige, Flex West, Aims web, differentiation, guided reading, and hands on science. I completed my Masters Degree from Concordia University in the winter of 06.
My family and I live in Yorkville. My wife is a pre-school teacher and our children are the loves of our lives. Our Boxer is named Roscoe. I really enjoy athletics, especially football, and spending time with my family.
Once again I am excited to be here and look forward to working with all of you. If you need anything throughout the year please remember that we are here to support you.
