Welcome to the Hunt Club website. Thanks for visiting! I am Phil Murray, and I am staring my second year as principal at Hunt Club. I have enjoyed every minute working with such a wonderful and dedicated staff, extremely involved and helpful parents, and some of the best children around!
My background includes attending the College of Du Page and Elmhurst College where I earned my Bachelors Degree. I then earned my Masters Degree in Educational Administration from Northern Illinois University. I have been involved in education for over 16 years. I previously taught 7th grade math at West Chicago Middle School, as well as 6th, 7th, and 8th grade math at Winfield Middle School. I served as assistant principal in Winfield for the K-8 setting for 2 years. I then began as assistant principal here in the Oswego School District at Traughber Junior High for 5 years, Bednarcik Junior High for 1, and am in my second year here at Hunt Club.
I have been involved in coaching student athletes for over 23 years! I have coached basketball, baseball, softball, football, track, cross country, and volleyball from 1st grade through high school varsity. I have officiated basketball for the IHSA for the past 25 years. I enjoy many outdoor activities, including golf, playing bean bags, and yard work. I live in Naperville with my wife and two children.
My goal as the principal of Hunt Club is to bring together our staff, students, and parents to create the best learning environment possible. When everyone works together for one common goal, the potential is amazing! While the world around us is an ever changing picture, the staff here at Hunt Club will continue to create an atmosphere where positive character is expected, hard work from everyone is the norm, and together as a learning team, we will create the best possible experiences for all the students of Hunt Club.
