Clubs and Activities
Student Council
This group of fourth and fifth grade students strive to contribute to the Homestead Community and create a climate of school unity. The Student Council is under the leadership of Mrs. Francis and Ms. Ramm.
Yearbook Club
Miss Matta leads this group of fifth graders. Their purpose is to help with the production of the 2008-2009 yearbook.
Drama Club
This club will allow second grade students to explore and develop their own imaginations. It will help build self-confidence and help students express their emotions. The club will do many dramatic activities such as skits, improvisations and a play performed for the parents. The Drama Club is led by Mrs. Hillman and Ms. Friedrich.
Ecology Club
The purpose of the Ecology Club is to enhance the student's knowledge and understanding of the environment. Students will obtain a deeper appreciation for our natural resources and how to preserve them and, above all, to "Go Green!" Mr. Perry and Mr. Kueker lead the Ecology Club.
Garden Club
Students will help create and maintain an outdoor classroom environment for the entire school community. Leaders Mrs. Moore and Mrs. Vitanovec will help studetns to foster a love for the environment and develop an ownership for taking care of the earth. Students will learn about ecology and basic gardening skills as they tend to the Children's Garden.
H.I.T. Squad: Homestead's Information Team
The third, fourth and fifth grade students on Homestead's Information Team gather school news, information and photos and publish it on the school website. This group is led by Mrs. Judy Beirne.
Jolly Rancher
The Jolly Rancher provides a weekly trivia question related to the Homestead school community. Answers to the trivia question are emailed to the jollyrancher@oswego308.org. The Jolly Rancher announces the winners weekly and rewards correct responses with a Jolly RancherTM!
