Mindy Renier
Principal
email
My name is Mindy Renier and I am thrilled to join the learning community here at Homestead. The teachers, staff, parents and students have built a solid foundation of success and my goal is to continue to pursue excellence in both academic and character development for every student. While we may not know exactly what opportunities our children will someday pursuit, we do know this: a solid foundation in academic skills and strong character traits will create more positive opportunities. I look forward to working with our school community to expand and strengthen student success.
A bit about me—I moved to the Fox Valley in August of 2009 with my husband and our two children. I am a 5th generation teacher (so deciding what I wanted to do with my life was easy!) and graduated from Indiana University, Bloomington, in 1989. I worked for the same school district in northeast Indiana from graduation until I moved, but in a variety of positions. One thing I am proud of is my experience with children from pre-school through 12th grade! I did my student teaching with high school juniors and seniors, worked in a high school reading class with freshman and sophomores, taught middle school social studies, served as a middle school assistant principal and athletic director, and finally as an elementary principal in a school of 680 students in grades preK-5. I spent this last school year acclimating my family to our new area and had the pleasure of doing lots of volunteer work at my children’s schools. Now that I have settled in my own family, I look forward to working with our Homestead family.
In my free time, I love biking and boating—anything around water—lakes, rivers, pools, oceans—I love water! As a mother of two middle school children, I spend a lot of time watching my children in their activities (and driving to practices!), monitoring homework, but most importantly, appreciating time together as a family.
Always feel free to contact me with any concerns you have regarding your child’s experience here at Homestead. |

Mary Weber
Assistant Principal
email
My name is Mary Weber. This is my tenth year in the Oswego 308 School District and my first year as the assistant principal of Homestead and Grande Park Elementaries. I am very excited about the school year and look forward to working with the students, families, and staff members in these communities.
I graduated from Barat College with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education back in 1994. I earned my first master’s degree from University of St. Francis in Curriculum and Instruction and followed that with certification as a Reading Specialist. I earned my Reading Recovery certification from National Louis University and then went on to earn another degree in Educational Administration from St. Francis University. I have had the opportunity to work as a first grade teacher at The Wheatlands and Lakewood Creek Elementary. I then had the privilege to work as a Reading Specialist at Lakewood Creek and Southbury Elementaries. Currently, I am the Assistant Principal at both Homestead and Grande Park.
A little bit about me: I grew up in Lake Forest, Illinois and lived in California, Wyoming and Missouri while my husband was in the Air Force. My husband, Paul, and I have three beautiful boys named Ben (17), Grant (15) and Henry (3). As a family, we enjoy playing games, watching sports and relaxing with other family and friends.
