Math game day By Kendall Stites Today was math game day at school. It was pretty fun because parents got to come and we got to play games all of math class. Some classes played top decimal top it, or multiplication bingo, or even clerk and costumer. Some classes got to play in the hallway. But it was a blast. When 4th grade started it was an hour before lunch time. So when 4th grade was done it was lunch time and my class had no homework. The new book fair BY Grace Nelson Miss .Archer is running it. It is happening in the library. There are very cool books some are Black out, Star wars, Hanna Montana, High school musical 3, Marley a dog like no other. They are all very cool books. I hope you get to see some of the cool books. I hope you to buy Diary of a wimpy kid do it you self book. Have a grate time at the book fair. Enjoy the book fair. There is something for every one. Kyle Orton’s injury By: Nicholas U and Nicholas M Kyle Orton is the person who got injured. He is the new quarterback for the Chicago Bears. It all happened at Soldier Field. It happened because he got tackled and someone tripped and fell on his leg with all of his weight and injured himself. It happened when the Lions were playing the Bears. It happened at the 1st quarter. It was on a Sunday, on November. It happened because an outside linebacker that was 200 pounds fell on Kyle Orton. He got injured on the leg and is now out for the season. Sadly they lost. The Construction By: Mackenzie Mollohan "Come on bring it in, bring it in". Oh! Hi! I was working but just to tell you homestead is under construction! I have learned a few facts about the construction. One fact is that on the part close to the gym they are building sports fields. Some are football, base ball, soccer. Some people think even a tennis court. On the other side they tore down the small playground and are building another part of the school. We are doing this because we are running out of classroom space. Another fact is that there is a huge gray gate. That’s a lot of construction going on. So I’ve got to get to work so bye-bye! Homestead Huskies Rock! By: Travis Riley and Connor Hughes Who are we? Homestead! Who are we? Homestead! Who are we? Huskies! We are the Homestead Huskies. Our principal’s name is Mrs. Decker she is awesome. We can tell you that Homestead has excellent teachers. There are many specials to do (P.E., library, music, art, and last, but not least computer lab). In P.E. we play all kinds of sports. In library we read tons of books. The book fair is coming up there are all kinds of books. In music we sing songs and play games. In art we paint, draw, and write stuff. In computer lab we type, we do fast math, we do paws, and H.I.T. Squad writes papers. In the title, you see Homestead Huskies Rock ! this is not an opinion this is a fact.

Mrs.Egeland’s Life Experience By Mackenzie and Arya This is Mrs.Egeland’s true teaching experience. Mrs.Egeland has taught reading, kindergarten, and third grade all in 7 years. She likes teaching reading the most. Her favorite reading strategy is questioning because that means you’re engaged in learning. Mrs.Egeland spends most of her weekend visiting her children, Sara and Matthew. The thing she doesn’t like the most is when children don’t try. Her hobby is trying to stay organized. (She is not like Ms.Matta at all.) Her BFF at Homestead is Ms.Phillips. Guess what? Her favorite reading strategy is questioning too! She has a questioning crown! Mrs.Egeland is making a plan to steal it! Watch out Ms.Phillips! Her favorite accessory is watches. She has 50! Mrs.Egeland’s favorite color is blue. Her favorite movie star is Judy Law. Her favorite story is Life of Pi. Her favorite place to be is ANYWHERE to be as long as she is on vacation. She likes the middle of the school year because kids know what to do by then. She is 46 years old. Her birthday is March 22nd. Her favorite character pillar is citizenship because she loves America and how all the people can work for a good life in this country. Her son is going to be an officer in the Navy. Her daughter works for the governor of Minnesota. Wow! What a life! Her father-in-law , Mr.Egeland ,and her son Matthew were all in the military. She says’’ Struggle = Learning. That is why life is all about staying in the struggle.’’ There is a new club at Homestead! All about math game day By Dev We played addition top-it ,multiplication bingo, decimal topit the games where very fun. We also let our parents come in we divide in to groups it was pretty fun but if our parents where not watching it would be more but I guessed it would be worth it because why would be worth it if they didn’t come it wouldn't be worth it.
