Being in the fifth grade musical!!

By: Ben Halder, Camden Ko, and Patrick Ubelhor

What was it like being in the fifth grade musical? Well, everyone was a little nervous. "What I did to keep from getting nervous," says Patrick, "Was not to look at all the audience." For all of you people out there here is your lucky break! Here is the answer for this week’s answer for the jolly rancher! The name of the musical is We Haz Jazz! From your point of view the people on the bleachers to the right was Mrs. Francis’s class; in the middle on stage was Mr. O’s class, and on the bleachers to the left was Mrs. Carr’s class. Ben’s opinion was to look at the audience since that’s what you are supposed to do, but then again Ben wasn’t nervous since he’s been in many play’s and musicals before. Including getting one of the main parts in one. Also he’s going to perform in a Wayside School performance soon. Why are we asking ourselves these questions anyway? You think I know!

The 5th grade musical

By Kendall Stites

Did you see the 5th grade musical, because it was awesome .The singing, the dancing, the way they did the move where they went one way and the person behind them went the other. They even danced together and didn’t care. Would you care if you had to dance with someone? But when they did dance together the way that they moved over to the next person was nice, but how did they get used to it?

Why did they have to wear a certain colors in clothes, because the boys wore white and the girls wore red they all wore black pants. But it was good.

"Mrs." Baughman

By: Nick M and Nick U

Did you see Mr. Baughman in a dress last week? If you didn’t, we’ll tell you about it. It was hilarious!

Mr. B. was the 4th grade teacher wearing a dress. He said, "If we all do all of our homework every week, for six weeks, we will get a token or coin for every week that we do we do our homework." For the prize, Mr. Baughman wore the dress. The dress was red with sparkles on it. That’s why the title is called, Mrs. Baughman. The two subjects that were picked to was math from Emily S., and reading from Ray F. So Mr. B wore a dress and he might do it again soon, so be on the lookout!

What a Soldier Thinks About Veterans Day

By Evan Ryan Cain

This is about my dad who is a CW3 in the U.S.A. Army. He is being honored on Veterans Day. My dad feels good that people appreciate his work. This soldier joined the army when he was 21 and he was in college. He joined the army because he wanted to serve his country and fight bad guys. CW3 Cain stays in the army to keep his family safe. Veterans Day is important to this soldier because he remembers all the soldiers who died saving people. My dad likes Veterans Day because he knows the people appreciate what he does and he remembers soldiers who died in wars.

Mrs. Walkers baby

 By: Mackenzie Mollohan

Mrs. Walker just had her baby . You know what I just heard ! Mrs. Walker had a baby. She has been pregnant for a long time . She was staying at her house off her feet. (which is called bed rest.) Bed rest is when the doctor says you have to stay at your house until your baby comes out. Everybody was exited. You know how everybody found out , over the intercom !? The big question was is it a BOY or a GIRL? Lot’s of people wanted it to be a girl, but I’m sorry it was a BOY! One fact we heard was that it’s 8lbs. It’s beautiful little boy name is Matthew. It’s full name is Matthew Joseph Walker. Now that that- hey that’s funny "that that"-hold on off topic, anyways now that this is over I want to figure out more facts about Matthew.

Mr. Perry Teaching Adventure

 By Grace Nelson

I interviewed Mr. Perry. A fourth grade teacher here at Homestead. He has been a teacher for 3 years. He started as a 3 rd grade teacher and moved up to 4th grade. Mr. Perry graduated from Aurora University in 2003. Graduation day was a great day! Mr. Perry whole family was there along with Mrs. Perry to watch him and there was about 200 teachers to get there degree. After graduation there was a huge celebration for his class.

Mr. Perry goal was to teach young students because he thought he could help them. I would like to meat Barak Obama because I would like to shake hands whit the next president of the United States. I am trying to direct or act in plays and musicals.
