School Improvement Plan
Goal #1: To increase the percentage of Grande Park Elementary School students who score a “3” on a 1 to 3 scale in the area of conventions on the 4th quarter district writing assessment by 10%. Currently, 36% of our students scored a “3” on the 2007-2008 4th quarter district writing assessment.
Goal #2: To increase the percentage of Grande Park Elementary School students who meet/exceed on the Spring (May) district reading fluency assessment by 7%. Currently, 73% of our students met/exceeded on the May, 2008 district reading fluency assessment.
Goal #3: To decrease the number of office referrals by 25%. This year there were 178 referrals. A 25% decrease would be 46 less, therefore a total of 132 or less would be the goal for the 2008-2009 school year.

Oswego Community Unit School District 308 embraces the CHARACTER COUNTS! program and the "Six Pillars of Character" - trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship.
CHARACTER COUNTS! bases its programs and materials on six ethical values that everyone can agree on — values that are not political, religious, or culturally biased.
Strategic Plan Objective
District 308 will engage all members of our partnership to integrate, reinforce, and assess the character traits to address those social issues that negatively impact learning.
2008-09 Plan
*Implement a Character Counts Train the Trainers program for community partners.
*Investigate and secure supplemental funding resources to support Character Counts Initiatives.
*Ensure all Schools are consistently implementing discipline procedures in a manner consistent of six pillars of Character Counts.
