New Vision Requirements
Vision Examinations: Public Act 95-671, effective January
1, 2008, requires that all children enrolling in
kindergarten in a public, private or parochial school and
any student enrolling for the first time in a public,
private or parochial school shall have an eye examination.
Each such child is to present proof of having been examined
by a physician licensed to practice medicine in all its
branches or a licensed optometrist within the previous year
before October 15th of the school year.

Oswego CUSD #308 Offers Free Preschool Screenings
Free developmental screenings are available to families with
preschool-age children, living in the Oswego CUSD #308 attendance
area. Screenings are held several times each month throughout the
year. The Child Find Preschool Screening is offered to help each
family determine if their 3, 4, or 5 year old, is developing
appropriately for his or her age.
Screening appointments can be made by calling the Shirley Brokaw
Early Learning Center office at (630)551-9600. Appointment times are
scheduled between 12 noon and 2:30 p.m. on selected days each month.
All screenings are held at the Shirley Brokaw Early Learning Center
location.
During an appointment, a team of educational professionals, from the
Kendall County Special Education Cooperative, will engage each child
in a variety of play activities, for the purpose of assessing
his/her overall development. Each child’s vision and hearing will be
checked, by a registered nurse, as well as, his or her overall
growth. Information is shared the same day, with the parent/guardian
accompanying each child to the screening.
All families with preschool-age children are encouraged to take
advantage of this free service. Interpreters are available to
families and their children, upon request.

Oswego CUSD #308 Ofresa Examens Preescolar Gratis
Los examens de desarrollo están disponible a familias con niños de
preescolar-edad, viviendo en el Oswego CUSD #308 área. Los examens
son tenidas varias veces cada mes a través del año. Los Examens del
Niño Preescolar es ofrecida para ayudar cada familia determina, si
su 3, 4, o de 5 años de edad, desarrollan apropiadamente para su
edad .
Las citas de los examens pueden ser hechas llamando la oficina del
the Shirley Brokaw Early Learning Center en (630) 551-9600. Los
tiempos de la cita son planificados entre 12 mediodía y 2:30 de la
tarde en días escogidos cada mes. Todas
examens son tenidas en el Shirley Brokaw Early Learning Center.
Durante una cita, un equipo de profesionales educativos, del Condado
de la Kendall Educación Especial Cooperativa, comprometerá a cada
niño en una variedad de actividades de juego, para el propósito de
valorar su desarrollo general. Cada visión del niño y la vista serán
verificadas, por una enfermera registrada, así como, su crecimiento
general. La información es compartida el mismo día, con el padre/guardián
que acompaña a cada niño a los examens.
Todas familias con niños de preescolar-edad son alentadas a
aprovecharse de este servicio gratis. Los intérpretes están
disponibles a familias y sus niños, sobre el pedido.
