About the Administration
Christine Laughlin, Principal

Welcome to the Churchill Elementary School Web site.
My name is Christine Laughlin and I have just completed my first
year as the principal of this wonderful school. The students, staff,
families and this community have inspired me with their generosity,
support and dedication to our children’s education. I feel honored
to be a part of this school and this community.
I received my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from
Northern Illinois University and a Masters degree in Educational
Administration from University of Illinois at Chicago. I began my
teaching career at Beaubien Elementary in Chicago in 1984. There I
taught in the fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh and finally, the eighth
grade. I became the Assistant Principal at Beaubien in 1992, and
stayed there until 2005.
I moved to Oswego with my three sons, Alex, Joseph and Peter in
July of 2005. In addition to spending time at the boy’s sporting
events, I also enjoy camping, bike riding, swimming and traveling
with them. We all love living in this community and we all have had
positive experiences in our schools.
I am excited that I have the opportunity to continue building on
the strong foundation that we have established at Churchill, and I
look forward to living and working in this community for years to
come.
Tammie Harmon, Assistant Principal
My name is Tammie Harmon and I am the Assistant Principal at
Churchill and Homestead Elementary Schools.
I grew up in Crete with my mom, dad, and older brother, Nick. I
currently live in Plainfield with my husband, Kevin, and son, Luke,
who was born on December 22, 2005.
I received my Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education from
Southern Illinois University in 1998. I began my teaching career as
a student teacher in 3rd grade in New Lenox. For the remainder of
that school year, I was a teacher’s assistant with Special Education
students in 4th and 5th grades also in New Lenox. I then helped open
a brand new building in New Lenox as a 4th grade teacher and
remained teaching there for six years. During that time, I received
my Masters Degree in Administration from Northern Illinois
University in 2001.
The 2005-2006 school year was my first year as the Assistant
Principal at Churchill and Homestead Elementary Schools. I am so
thankful to be a part of the Oswego School District working with
such wonderful students, parents, and staff members. |
