Julie Sromek, Assistant Principal

Welcome to the Boulder Hill Elementary School website!  Boulder Hill is a wonderful place to work and learn and I feel so blessed to be here!  We have a great student body, a staff that is dedicated and full of energy, and parents and neighboring community that are supportive and involved in our children’s education.

I grew up in Sterling, Illinois and attended Sterling High School.  I then  attended Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois and graduated in 1999 with a Bachelors in Elementary Education.  That spring, I was hired as a 4th grade teacher at Old Post Elementary for the 1999-2000 school year.  Over the next six years, I taught 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades at Old Post.

In 2003, I received my Masters in Educational Leadership from Aurora University.  During the winter and spring of 2005, I held an interim position for the Assistant Principal at Boulder Hill Elementary School.  Later, I was hired as Boulder Hill’s Assistant Principal, starting the 2005-2006 school year.

I definitely have a passion for children and education.  I thoroughly enjoyed teaching and have found great rewards, too, as Assistant Principal.  Each of us is integral in shaping our children for the future, and I definitely feel I am playing an important part here at Boulder Hill Elementary School.  The Oswego School District #308 is a great place to work and live and I am glad to be a part of it!
