Welcome! My name is Jeff Schafermeyer, and I am truly honored to be starting my seventh year as Principal at Boulder Hill School in Oswego School District #308. I began my career in education in 1994 as the Director of the Kendall County Outdoor Education Cooperative at Silver Springs State Park in Yorkville. At that time the Cooperative was made up of five school districts within Kendall and DeKalb Counties (Oswego, Yorkville, Plano, Sandwich, and Somonauk). As the director, I was responsible for creating and teaching experiential based lessons that enriched the classroom curriculum. Throughout the school year more than 6,000 students would visit the Outdoor Education Center. My career took a significant turn in 2001 when I became the Assistant Superintendent of Schools for the Grundy and Kendall Counties, Regional Office of Education. The responsibilities of this office included: certification, professional development, truancy, managing grant funded programs, and maintaining accountability between the State Board of Education and the school districts within Grundy and Kendall County. In 2004 I shifted my focus in school administration to a local level and became the Principal of Bristol Grade School in the Yorkville School District #115. In 2006, I began my work as Principal of Boulder Hill School in the Oswego School District #308.
I hold an undergraduate degree in Geography from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. I received a secondary education teaching credential from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville. In 1993 I earned a Masters degree in Outdoor Teacher Education from Northern Illinois University through participation in their graduate teaching assistantship program at the Lorado Taft Field Campus. While teaching, I completed my Master’s degree in Educational Administration at Northern Illinois University. I have plans to begin a doctoral program in Education Administration in the near future.
My wife is an Assistant Principal at Prairie Point Elementary School and we have two children who attend school in Yorkville. As a family we enjoy traveling, swimming, biking, and spending time in southern Illinois at our family farm.
Thank you for the opportunity to work with your students and be involved in the Boulder Hill School community!

I am very excited to be here and to be a part of such an incredible learning community. Each day, I have the opportunity to witness top notch teaching and learning in the classrooms of this school. I marvel at the collaboration and dedication of both students and staff. Students are engaged and encouraged to strive for excellence on a daily basis.
I bring to Boulder Hill 25 years of teaching and learning experience. I graduated from the University of Illinois with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. I received my first master’s degree from National Louis University in Curriculum and Instruction and my second master’s in Educational Administration from Governor’s State University. I have spent my 20 year teaching career in the Burr Ridge School District teaching a variety of grade levels.
