July 24, 2012

“I am excited to be part of the District 308 staff and look forward to meeting the families in the community,” Hassberger said.
Hassberger has both hands-on and management experience in school finance, investments, operations, transportation, food service and negotiations. Since 2009, Hassberger has worked in Big Hollow School District 38 in Ingleside, Illinois and prior to that, spent three years as the director of business services in Winfield School District 34. From 2000-05, Hassberger was employed as an accounting manager with JC Licht Company.
“As a Certified Public Accountant, Ms. Hassberger was our first choice for this district administrative level position,” said Superintendent Dr. Matthew Wendt. “Since 2000, she has served in a financial role and those experiences in both the private and public sectors will serve District 308 well.”
Hassberger received her bachelor’s degree in business administration from Western Michigan University and her master’s degree in education from Northern Illinois University. She is a member of the Illinois Association of School Business Officials and has served as a board member for Central CUSD 301 in Burlington, Illinois.
Hassberger and her husband Jeff have three children and have resided in St Charles for more than 20 years.
“Ms. Hassberger’s professional designation as a CPA and her experience of managing investments, transportation, food service programs, preparation of annual school budgets and development of multi-year projections of revenues, expenses and cash flows will be a great addition to the strong business team currently in place,” said Board President William Walsh. “We look forward to her contributions in the future.”
