District 308 administrator hired in District 112

July 2, 2012

Dr. John Petzke has announced that he will assume the Chief Technology Officer position in North Shore School District 112 in Highland Park. He begins his new position on July 1.

“Dr. John Petzke is an outstanding young administrator who has been the driving force in making instructional technology an integral part of every classroom in District 308,” said District 308 Superintendent Dr. Dan O’Donnell. “His positive attitude and friendly demeanor while solving technology issues will be difficult to replace. We wish him well as he heads to North Shore District 112."

Petzke joined the District 308 administrative team in 2007 as the director of instructional technology. Within a year he was promoted to oversee the district’s technology program as an executive director. Prior to his time in District 308, Petzke worked in West Aurora School District 129 as the Hall Elementary School principal, an assistant principal at McCleery and Smith Elementary Schools and the district’s instructional technology coordinator. Petzke began his educational career in Indian Prairie School District 204 as the district’s student services coordinator and a fourth-grade classroom teacher at White Eagle Elementary School.

Petzke also continues to serve as an adjunct professor at Aurora University, a position he has held for the past 12 years.

"On behalf of the District 308 Board of Education, I would like to thank Dr. Petzke for his hard work to move the district’s technology to the level it is today. Additionally, his willingness to support and lead special projects during his tenure is very much appreciated. As Dr. Petzke starts the next phase in his career, we wish him all the best," said Board of Education President Bill Walsh.
